Anxiety is the bodys response to the perception of danger; that is how you respond physically, mentally, and emotionally to a perceived danger. This danger is probably unreal and irrational; however, it hovers over your mind, and in many cases, this fear becomes constant and will probably affect your daily life. Stress and past traumatic events play a major role in causing chronic anxiety, even if the body does not react to these situations at the time of happening.

    This e-book will introduce you first to what anxiety is, how it feels, and the major types of anxiety disorders. The purpose of this book is to help you identify what youre going through and help you find the right ways to deal with your anxiety disorder.     There are many types of anxiety disorders, but the most general one is generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). GAD is the incessant and extreme worry about several situations. Those with GAD, for example, may feel apprehensive and await disaster and may be excessively fretful about daily issues such as work, money, family, health, specific events, or other matters. These people cannot control their worry, and it usually clouds their judgment and affects their decisions. The most common physical reactions to GAD may be characterized by feeling irritable and uneasy for a prolonged period of time, with the constant feeling of impending danger. This may cause the heart rate to increase, along with rapid breathing, hyperventilating, sweating, and trembling. This, of course, causes the person with GAD to feel weak and tired most of the time, probably due to lack of sleep, and thus making it difficult to concentrate on certain tasks. Many people with anxiety disorders also experience gastrointestinal (GI) problems as well, which in turn causes them abdominal and stomach aches.

    L ike mentioned earlier , individuals with GAD feel uneasy and fearful about different things for a long period of time (six months or more). They may experience the constant feeling of being anxious and apprehensive, not only in particular stressful situations such an exam or a job interview. These worries become persistent and extreme, and thus may interrupt their normal lives. Trivial daily triggers, such as running a certain errand or attending a social event, may lead to an overwhelming worry and a feeling that something horrific will happen.

    In some cases, GAD may be accompanied by other disorders such as social phobia, depression, OCD, or PTSD. People with severe anxiety may be subjected to alcohol or drug abuse and could suffer from a variety of physical health issues such as headaches (or migraines), muscle tension, or bowel conditions.

    P anic disorder is characterized as an anxiety disorder in which you frequently experience panic attacks. It is common for anyone to feel anxious and fearful since its our bodys natural response to stressful events and/or dangerous situations. However, those with panic disorder feel anxious, stressed, scared, and uneasy frequently, and most of the time the cause of these feelings is irrational, even unapparent.
