Early Reviews
There is a reason Mary is known as the help of Christians. In this book, Brian Kiczek details numerous stories of her miraculous intervention throughout history. Reading the book will allow you to see not only what Mary has done in the lives of others, but also to better appreciate what she can do in your own life. Highly recommended.
Gary Zimak, author of Listen to the Blessed Mother, speaker, radio host.
Have you ever wondered about the inner life and spirituality of the Blessed Mother of God? Brian Kiczek, using the insights of the great mystics of the Church, has given us a superb reflection on those thoughts which Mary pondered in her heart.
Rev. James Tucker, Parochial vicar, Epiphany Parish.
Our Blessed Mother, as mother of Gods children, has been helping us under the title of Mary, help of Christians, throughout the centuries until the present time. She has come to the aid of individuals, families, towns, kingdoms, and nations. This book clearly highlights the power of Marys interventions and gives one the tools needed to obtain the help of the Blessed Mother. I have experienced our Ladys help in my life in a personal way and can say that in these troubled times, we need Mary. This book will inspire one to have greater love and devotion to our Lady as Mary, help of Christians.
Esmeralda Kiczek, author of The Adoption Movement, co-founder of the End of Abortion Movement.
In 1862, Bosco told one of his early Salesian priests, Our Lady wants us to honor her with the title Help of Christians. The times are so sad that we need the holy Virgin to help us preserve and defend the Christian faith. In his book, Kiczek masterfully illustrates our Ladys intervention throughout history. Every Catholic should have this book on the family bookshelf.
James J. Gambino, Salesian Cooperator.
Mary, help us! This is the battle cry of Christians and Brian Kiczek effectively captures the stories of her motherly and heavenly aid.
Reverend Edward Looney
Parochial vicar, Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, author of A Rosary Litany, columnist at Ignitum Today .
Brian Kiczek presents a simple-to-understand approach to Marian theology and supports the case for devotion to the Blessed Mother through Scripture, historical events, and the wisdom of the saints. I particularly enjoyed the presentation of historical events where, through the intercession of our Lady, humanity turned its heart back to her Son, our Savior, and found Kiczeks use of the words of great saints like Padre Pio and John Bosco appealing, since they often resulted in moments of reflection and opportunities for meditative prayer. I recommend this book to anyone with a love for the Blessed Mother, or who is seeking to attain a basic understanding of Marian devotion. Truly, as society calls out in its suffering, now is the time for Christians to plead for the intercession of Mary as help of Christians, as she approaches her Son on our behalf.

Foreward
In writing this book, I wish to rekindle a great devotion to Mary, help of Christians as we all need her help more than ever. The first chapter of the book was derived, with kind permission from Tan Books, from The life of Mary as seen by the mystics a compilation of private revelations of Saint Elizabeth of Schoenau, Saint Bridget of Sweden, Venerable Mary Agreda, and Sister Anne Catherine Emmerich. These revelations are not to be considered historical biography, but as Father Delehaye S. J. stated in regard to the writings of Emmerich, Let them read [Emmerichs writings] as a religious novel, but not as a fifth Gospel. For more information about the difference between private and public revelation, I recommend reading the section on private revelation available at catholic.com/tracts/private-revelation , which gives wonderful explanations.
Throughout the rest of the book is presented the history of Mary, help of Christians; the key and the weapon to obtaining her help, as well as powerful prayers to the Blessed Virgin. Finally, there is a chapter on the power of frequent confession and communion, two of the sacraments of the Church.
May we all use these means to obtain the powerful help of Mary, our mother and queen.
Brian Kiczek, D. C., New Jersey, August, 2016.
Note: Ten percent of the profits received from the book will be donated to help the work of the Salesians throughout the world.
If you want to see miracles, have devotion to Mary, help of Christians. The help of God and of Mary will not fail you (Saint John Bosco).
Mary Becomes Our Lady, Help of Christians
I will put enmity between you and the woman, between your offspring and her offspring (Gn 3:15).
Our Lady the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of our Lord, Jesus Christ became our helper when even as an infant, she knew and loved God with all her heart, fulfilling to perfection the divine commandment to love God with all her heart and soul, and to love her neighbor as herself (Dt 6:5; Mt 22:37; Mk 12:30-31; Lk 10:27). She prayed, meditated, and performed interior acts of love for God throughout her whole life, and offered prayers and sacrifices for sinners. Mary desired to help us to love God and through that love, to love each other.
Throughout childhood, our Lady prayed for the Messiah to come and save us, never once considering that the mother of the Redeemer might be herself. She was humble and saw herself as the least of the human creatures of God, but because she was so humble, God exalted her by granting her the unique privilege of becoming the mother of the Redeemer, Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son.
Prior to the Annunciation, during a novena that she was praying to God under His direct instruction, Mary heard the voice of God.
He said, Come, My chosen one. Come to Me. I am He that raises the humble and fills the poor with riches. You have Me for your friend. Since you have found grace in My eyes, ask of Me whatever you desire and I shall not reject your petition, even if it be for a part of My kingdom (Brown, 2009).
