Everyone loves stories, and the Bible is a book of stories. However, what many of us miss is that the Bible tells us one storythe story of the activity of God in human history. This catechism is written to help children and adults grow in their understanding and love of the big picture of the Bible.

Question 1 Q. Who created the heavens and the earth? A. (Genesis 1:1) Question 2 Q. (Genesis 1:1) Question 2 Q.

Who created people? A. God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27) Question 3 Q. Was God pleased with everything he had made? A. God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:31) Question 4 Q.

What command did God give his people to obey? A. [From] the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die. (Genesis 2:17) Question 5 Q. Did Gods people obey Gods word? A. [Eve] took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. (Genesis 3:6) Question 6 Q.

How did God judge the Serpent? A. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.... Honor your father and your mother.... You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
