From Dee:
To my youngest daughter, Annie
What a transformation has taken place in youfrom a five-year-old orphan filled with fear to a beautiful young woman filled with faith, loving others with the mercy of the Father. I see in you, my darling, the colors of His love.
From Dee and Kathy:
To all women who are being transformed into glorious brides
Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear....
The king is enthralled by your beauty;
honor him, for he is your lord....
All glorious is the princess within her chamber;
her gown is interwoven with gold.
In embroidered garments she is led to the king. (Psalm 45:1014)

We (Dee and Kathy) would like to especially thank individuals from W Publishing Group. Mark Sweeney, at the helm, is a man of integrity and vision. Mark, you are also a very wise man to keep Debbie Wickwire on staff, even when it meant flying her regularly from Dallas to Nashville. And Debbie, thank you for getting on all those early morning flights in order to stay with W. We believe your excellence and sensitivity are one of the main reasons authors love W. Ami McConnell, we have learned the wisdom of what Paul said when he warned that we should not despise youth, for you have been a woman of wisdom and skill. We are so thankful you put us together with such a talented editor, Wendy Wood Vahey. Wendy, though we thought it would be an adventure, none of us knew just how great an adventure it would be in your personal life! Belinda Bass, thanks for this beautiful cover. You are amazing.
We must thank Matt, our amazing manager, who has often pulled off what others have said is impossible. Our assistants, Mary Jo, Nanette, Judy, Beth, and Linda have been terrific in hunting down artwork, meticulously checking footnotes, and keeping us from dropping crucial balls.
And how can we thank our prayer teams, friends, and families enough for interceding so faithfully for us? We are so blessed by your love and faithfulness.
Thanks to Dees mother, Marianne Brown, for the use of the photograph of her as a bride. A huge thanks to photographer Bart Larson for allowing us to use his photograph of autumn leaves on pages 1023. Please check Barts Web site at www.reflectionsofglory.com.

F alling in Love with Jesus was the theme of a two-day event for women in ministry. It was being held at an elegant hotel in Atlanta. Approximately four hundred women were going to attend.
(Dee) My plane arrived first. I waited with Mary Frances, the retreat coordinator, outside of the security area. Darlene, a Delta flight attendant who could easily get through security, went to meet Kathy at her gate. Kathys plane came in, but Darlene called Mary Frances on her cell phone with panic in her voice:
Kathy wasnt on the plane.
Did you ask them to check the passenger list?
I did, and shes listed. But I watched every passenger get off, and she wasnt on the plane.
Mary Frances, I said, Kathy was on the plane. Trust me. Darlene just didnt recognize her. People always look for the album cover Kathy. You knowthe hair done, the makeup, the gorgeous clothes. Dont worry. Ill watch for her. Shell be coming up the escalator any minute.
Sure enough, a few minutes later, there she was, easily lost in the crowd in her typical ball cap, jeans, cowboy boots, and leather jacket. I waved my arms to get her attention. She smiled that recognizable smile, and they all breathed a sigh of relief.
A S URPRISING B RIDE
It turned out to be the most amazing weekend. It was a unique experience for both of us. In our book Falling in Love with Jesus we described the beautiful romance in the relationship of the bride and the bridegroom as it pertains to our relationship with Jesus, but at this event we had never expected to experience all the pomp and circumstance thats involved with a royal wedding reception. We watched as women in ministry completely absorbed the pampering, the attention, and the reminder that they are loved as the Bride of Christ. Wed love to take you through some of the happenings of those couple of days. Our desire is for every woman to experience the joy and beauty that the weekend held.
Facials, manicures, and massages were available, without cost, before the start of the event. There were white flowers and displays of wedding gowns throughout the hotel. When you walked into the ballroom, each table was set up with a different elaborate centerpiece: one had an antique candelabra, fully lit, another had a vase of a dozen white roses, and another had gifts in gold wrapping draped with strings of pearls. Candles glowed everywhere, causing the fine china and crystal on every table to gleam. The stage was set up with garlands of roses draped between white columns. In the evening, when the women returned to their rooms, they found rose petals and chocolates scattered across their bedspreads. The dessert was a three-tiered, elegantly decorated wedding cake. It was all magnificent.
