F or a long time, the Utahraptor was almost unknown because no one had found many bones belonging to the large raptor. But in 2014, that all changed. Scientists discovered the bones of six Utahraptors on a mountain in the state of Utah. Finding so many Utahraptor skeletons together helped experts conclude that these dinosaurs probably stayed together and hunted in packs.

Have you ever heard the saying Teamwork makes the dream work? Well, in the Utahraptors case, teamwork is how they filled their bellies. By working together to corner other dinosaurs, these raptors were able to hunt more effectively and feed every raptor in the pack.

You know, teamwork is important. Whether youre on a team trying to win a game or youre part of a group studying to get a good grade, working together to accomplish a common goal is a good idea. And its not only a good idea. Its also a God idea!

God wants each of us to do what He has called us to do. He wants us to help Him share His love with the world. You might even say that were on Gods team, and thats a great team to be on.

DIGGING DEEPER:

As a part of Gods team, what can you do to share His love with others?

JURASSIC JOURNALING:

In your journal, write the letters T-E-A-M, and think of a word that begins with each letter and describes an aspect of being on a team. For example, for T you might write the word together because working together describes one important part of being on a team.

DID YOU KNOW that as the Parasaurolophuss teeth wore down in the front of - photo 9

DID YOU KNOW... that as the Parasaurolophuss teeth wore down in the front of its mouth, new teeth moved forward, a process that continued throughout this dinos life?

T he Parasaurolophus was quite an odd-looking dinosaur. It was a member of the Hadrosaurs, but most just call this dino group the duck-bills because of their duck-like appearance. And theres morethis dinosaur had a hollow tube-like crest on its head that reached up to six feet long! One paleontologist believed the crest contained scent glands or possibly helped the dino breathe underwater. Others disagree. But most agree that this crest served the Parasaurolophus as a noisemaker. In fact, it made a sound sort of like a trumpet! Some experts say the crest made a low B-flat note, like an elephants trumpet, and thats how the dinosaur communicated with other dinos.

Its pretty cool that the Parasaurolophus had its own built-in musical instrument. And while we may not have a trumpet growing out of our heads, we can still make a joyful noise to the Lord. We can use our hands to clap and our voices to sing. Even if you dont think you have a beautiful singing voice, God still loves to hear your songs of praise. And you dont have to know any worship songsyou can just make up your own!
