ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Wayne Teasdale is a Christian monk in xtwo traditions: Catholic and Indian sannyasa (renunciation). He was initiated as a Christian into Indian sannyasa by Dom Bede Griffiths, O.S.B. in India in January 1989, and took final vows as a monk under the Archbishop of Chicago in August 2003. He earned a doctorate in theology from Fordham University, and is an adjunct professor of spirituality, comparative religion, and ethics at Catholic Theological Union, DePaul University, and Columbia College. He is the author of several books, including The Mystic Heart, A Monk in the World, and Bede Griffiths: An Introduction to his Interspiritual Thought, and hundreds of articles. He was a member of Monastic Interreligious Dialogue for several years, and serves on the board of the Parliament of the Worlds Religions in Chicago.
