Foreword

I met Vannette in 2003 in a spiritual breakfast group that I had belonged to. Vannette was just joining our group that morning. The group leader introduced her and told us about her intuitive healing gifts.

At the end of that first breakfast meeting, Vannette and I introduced ourselves to each other. She reached out her hands to greet me and, as we held hands, she asked me if she could tell me what she saw about my health. Curiously, I agreed. She proceeded to accurately tell me about the health symptoms I had been experiencing symptoms no one else in the room knew. She then told me that she knew how to help me heal. In that moment, I felt tears entering my eyes. In those first few moments with Vannette, there was something that felt like a knowing of each other a recognition and trust that ran deep. I trusted that she had some answers and I had an inkling that we might fast become friends.

For the previous two or three years, I had suffered with insomnia and extreme fatigue. By each afternoon it was a struggle to think, and even speak, because I had so much brain fog. It was interfering with my work and my relationship. Only a month before my encounter with Vannette, I had made a firm decision that no matter what, I was going to find the source of this debilitating fatigue. I was very certain I could work out the way to heal myself. I had also reached out for help in prayer.

When Id set out on the journey to heal my fatigue, it was difficult to even find a doctor that would cooperate with me. The doctors I encountered seemed only marginally interested in spending the time to help me solve this health puzzle. I suspected I might have an issue with my thyroid, but after the first doctor tested my thyroid, and those results showed thyroid function within a normal range, he was unwilling to do more tests. I recall him saying that it was too expensive to run all the other possible tests to find out what else might be causing my condition.

Finally, I did find a doctor that was open and willing to take charge in helping me solve this puzzle. He ran every blood and urine test that made sense so that we could find out what was going on. It felt good that I was finally getting some scientific data about what might be causing the fatigue. From these test results, there were more clues, but it remained that we could not pinpoint or conclude a cause. As a next step, the doctor booked me for a sleep study, and a barium digestive tract test. This is where I was when I started my program with Vannette; these medical tests were booked, but not yet done.

Within a month of working with Vannette, I called my doctor and canceled all of my appointments. I was sleeping much better, my brain fog had lifted, and I had a lot more energy. This chronic fatigue was lifting. I was starting to feel like my old self again. I could, once again, do my work with energy and confidence. Vannette had been the answer to my prayers for healing.

The work I did with Vannette was very similar to the programs she outlines in this book. I followed her customized program with commitment and devotion. I wanted to be well. Of primary importance was the cleansing that I did. This included physical cleanses as well as cleaning up the foods in my diet that were interfering with my absorption and energy. The custom program had me cutting out coffee, dairy, and wheat from my diet. That was not easy. Like most people, I loved my coffee and I had come to depend on it to function. Wheat-based food, like bread and pasta, were my comfort foods. Every day, under the program, I did the lemon/oil cleanse (found in this book). My program also included adding certain foods, vitamins, herbs, and minerals to my diet. I had a monthly session during which Vannette fine-tuned the supplements and cleanses to support each stage of my body returning to health.

At the same time that I had embarked on this physical healing journey, I began yet another in-depth cleanse and continued to clear my mind of limiting beliefs and emotions. Working with the mind turned out to be my own passion and gifting. I learned how to reprogram my subconscious mind with empowering new beliefs, and how to release stuck emotions and trauma. I also began coaching and teaching my own clients how to do this supporting them in changing and healing their lives.
