Why I Wrote This Book

Several years ago, I had come down with a viral infection that had me in the hospital for a day. The doctors and nurses did an excellent job of fixing me up. Upon my arrival, my head felt like it would explode from all the pressure building up inside. I just wanted to drill a hole anywhere in my head to release the pressure. My skin all over my body was ravished with red welts. Blood was coming out of my eyes. My wonderful wife left work to take me to the hospital. I was so grateful to have such a wonderful woman in my life.

Sitting on the hospital bed, the nurses gave me every kind of drug and medication to relieve all the pain and discomfort. I was so grateful for that. To make an exceptionally long story short, they gave me a round of antibiotics and sent me home.

Heart palpitations

For four straight years after my illness and hospital visit, I had consistent and debilitating heart palpitations. Many times, it felt like a wild animal jumping around in the center of my chest. Other timesmore than I can countI felt like I would die right where I stood. I had hundreds of these episodes. In my mind, I was on the brink of death hundreds of times a day. It was scary and nerve-wracking.

Sometimes my heart would flutter. Sometimes it would just stop for a split second and then start again. Other times it would beat so fast that it felt like I had run a marathon or a 50-yard dash. It was scary. I didnt think my heart would be able to take it anymore.

During these SVT episodes, I would clutch my chest and just wondered when my heart was going to give out. SVT stands for Supraventricular Tachycardia. These episodes can happen out of nowhere. Sometimes, I would sit at my desk working on a project, and then my heart would beat at nearly 200 beats per minute or more. A normal pulse (heart rhythm) is anywhere from 60 beats per minute to 100 beats per minute. My normal pulse at my age is 60 beats per minute. So, when these SVT episodes happened, it was quite a shock to my system.

I would have many of these episodes throughout the week. When I didnt have a full-on SVT episode with a rapid heart rate, I would have other kinds of heart palpitations. These are called PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) and PACs (premature atrial contractions), just to name a few. There are many more heart arrhythmias, but those are the ones I suffered from the most.

Most people have heard of AFib, which is short for arterial fibrillation. Without getting too technical, these are all similar. Basically, the heart isnt beating normally. Its erratic. However, its not an indication of heart disease, as most people would think. Its an electrical/nerve problem rather than a clogged artery problem.

While many doctors will tell their patients that these heart arrhythmias are harmless, these erratic heartbeats can be quite frightening. Personally, whenever I had a heart palpitation of any kind, I felt like I was going to die.

When other parts of your body have pain or dont feel right, you have a slight concern. However, when its your heart, you think of the worst.

Naturally, this would heighten your anxiety. I never had anxiety before the onset of these heart episodes. But since I was reminded about a hundred times a day that I could die at any moment, I started to get a little anxious.

After going to many doctors and having several emergency room visits, I realized that I needed to find a solution. It took me about six months to find a solution I could live with for the rest of my life.

The solution

The solution I wrote about in my two previous books is that its all in my head. Many doctors had told me that my heart palpitations were all in my head, but they didnt provide a way for me to overcome this.

And let me be clear by what I mean by its all in my head. It doesnt mean I am crazy or that I think Im having a heart palpitation. I know Im having a heart palpitation. Im not dreaming it. Even a doctors office visit would confirm this. It just means that there is no physical source for my heart palpitationssuch as heart disease.

It was all anxiety, as my doctors told me. However, I had a hard time believing this because I didnt have any anxiety at all. I was very calm and relaxed.

It took me four long years to find a solution. The solution was to fix my head. The significant side effect of finding a solution was that I had confirmed that I couldthrough thought alonemake changes to my body. I had the power to make changes by thought alone. Knowing this was a big breakthrough for me.

I had heard about the Law of Attraction over 14 years ago and investigated it. Unfortunately, I read too many articles from naysayers who said it was a bunch of nonsense. Therefore, I abandoned the idea.

However, since I cured my heart palpitationsa real physical disorderthrough my thoughts, I had a new appreciation for the Law of Attraction and changing oneself through thought alone.
