Introduction I believe in a God of miracles My purpose in writing this book - photo 2

Introduction

I believe in a God of miracles

My purpose in writing this book is twofold: 1) to share with you how you can reach out and receive a miracle from God at the point of your need and, 2) to show you how it is possible for you to live in a miracle realm as naturally as you breathe...where miracles become a normal part of your day-to-day existence.

I realize it is hard for most people to relate to miracles. Miracles seem out of reach...unattainable. It is not so much a matter of believing God is able to perform a miracle, as much as it is that they feel they do not have enough faith to reach God and believe for a miracle in their own life.

You may feel a miracle is out of your reach. You may not know how to approach God regarding the needs in your life. You may not even have a clear understanding of what a miracle really is.

From my own personal experience I can tell you that I did not know anything about supernatural manifestations and the miracles of God, except what I had read in the Old Testament as a Jewish orphan boy, and that in a historical context only. But, God came to me at the point of my deepest need at the age of eight. I was ready to jump to my death from the window ledge of a Jewish Orthodox orphanage. I was lonely...scared... I had given up all hope. God came to me at that point of deep desperation and miraculously intervened. His Presence filled the room behind me and He spoke peace and comfort to me. His comforting Presence assured me that He loved me and He gave me a reason to live. He stopped me from committing suicide.

Later in my life, at the age of 14 1/2, God once again intervened by supernaturally leading me out of the Jewish

orphanage to a place in front of the Montauk Theatre where I met the Christian woman who had been instrumental in leading me into an experience of accepting Jesus Christ into my heart. Right away, I was given a place to live in the home of her brother and his wife.

At that point in my life, if anyone had told me that God was going to use me to stand before some of the largest crowds in the history of Christianity and speak as a prophet and apostle to the nations, and also to train hundreds of thousands of Nationals in over 133 countries around the world how to reach their nations for God, I would have told them they were crazy.

I had no intention of becoming a minister of the Gospel. My driving ambition was to one day become governor of my state of New Jersey.

But, one night in an old Presbyterian church as I knelt at the altar, God supernaturally revealed Himself to me and changed the course of my life.

As I was kneeling down, I could feel the pressure of a hand on my forehead. Suddenly, I found myself flat on my back.

I was conscious and could hear the noise of the people around me but I felt paralyzed. I tried to get up but I couldn't. I tried to move my hands and my legs but I was unable to move.

As I lay there on the floor in this condition my spirit was taken out of my body and the next thing I knew, I was in the heavens.

In the heavens I saw a multitude of people that no man could number, stretched out as far as my eyes could see to the right and left of the horizon...of every nationality...red, yellow, black, white. These people appeared to be seated in a semi-circle configuration even though they had no chairs.

As I looked upon this great multitude, my spirit entered a body on the front row which I recognized as my own physical body.

It is humanly impossible to describe with my tongue...there are no words in all the languages of the world to describe what I saw next. Suddenly, in front of this tremendous multitude of people, the glory of God appeared.

The Form that I saw was about the height of a man six feet tall, maybe a little taller, and twice as broad as a human body with no distinguishing features such as eyes, nose, or mouth.

This Form shone with the flaming brightness of a million moons, a million suns, and billions of stars in one.

As my eyes were beholding this great manifestation of God's glory, a ray about three or four times the diameter of a man's arm shot out from this glorious Form and struck my being. The ray of light was like a magnet pulling me forward...drawing me closer and closer toward this manifested Presence of God.

Now, you must remember I knew absolutely nothing about the supernatural power of God. I was only fifteen at the time. I was a little Jewish boy, an orphan, a stranger now in a world where I knew only one or two people.

During this entire experience I was in a state of absolute consciousness. Thoughts were rushing through me like wind. I was sensing tremendous emotions...fear, anxiety, perplexity, coupled with tremendous joy and exhilaration.

As I was savoring this moment and basking in the tremendous love and glory that emanated from this glorious Being, the glory of God moved one step away from me.

My heart sank! I couldn't understand it. I was confused. In my heart I was thinking, "Lord, You drew me up here. I was standing by Your side and now You have walked one step away from me."

Then something constrained me to look down where the Presence of God had moved away from me and I saw in the heavens, cut out of the sky, a hole in the form of two footprints.

I looked through that hole and what I saw changed my life. It was as if God had taken the lid off hell and allowed me to see from heaven down into the portals of the underworld. I saw the flames of fire that will never be quenched. I heard the cries of the damned and the lost. I felt the torment of the backslider; his cry was the worst of all.

I knew when I saw those footprints in the sky, I had a choice. God was saying to me, "Morris, will you give Me your life?" As I heard those cries and saw the eternal damnation of souls in an eternity without God, I yielded and surrendered everything to God and put my feet in those footprints.

A warmth came around my shoulders. I turned and the glory of God had taken the ray that had drawn me to Him and had placed that ray around my shoulders. My whole body became like a luminous paint. It lit up from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.

And then, for the first time God spoke. A voice came out of the glory of God and spoke words to me I had never heard before, but which I later discovered were taken from the Old Testament book of Isaiah:

"Arise and shine for My light is come upon thee and the glory of the Lord shall surround thee, for the multitude of the sea of the Gentiles shall be converted unto thee ."

From this glorious, manifested Presence of God, rays shot out over the heads of the people and they literally lit up the heavens and those people.

God spoke to me again:

"Son, when you see My glory in the midst of My people, and as you stand before them, then know that I am there to show Myself strong in behalf of them that love Me."

This experience as a young boy was only the beginning. Throughout my current 40 years of ministry to the nations of the world, I have watched God show Himself strong on behalf of those who love Him just as He said He would during that tremendous encounter with Him.

I have watched God as He has restored sight to the blind, opened deaf ears, healed the lame, and performed miracle after miracle in response to the cries of people around the world.
