1. In Search of the Perfect Crime

Many people go through their lives without causing any real problems, and they certainly would never think about stepping outside the lines and breaking the law. There are others, however, who see an opportunity and take advantage of it in order to improve their station in life, or perhaps to seek revenge for some untold difficulties. These individuals all feel as if they have committed the perfect crime, but in reality, the perfect crime may not exist.

In this book we are going to review some of the greatest unsolved crimes that - photo 3

In this book, we are going to review some of the greatest unsolved crimes that still remain a mystery, down to this day. The fact that they are unsolved does not necessarily mean that they are the perfect crime, but rather, it may just be a matter of the clues not fitting together yet, or some piece of evidence not turning up. As imperfect people, we make mistakes and this is true in all aspects of our life. When a crime is committed, there are going to be clues that are left behind at the scene or elsewhere, which will prove the innocence or guiltiness of somebody that is being charged with a crime. That is a fact of life and it is indisputable.

At times, it is not possible to decipher the available evidence in a way that would allow the crime to be unfolded before us. An example of this is the advancements in science in recent years. These advances have helped crime scene analysts to determine factors about the crime that would have been impossible to figure out in times past. In some cases, evidence that was preserved from decades ago can now be analyzed properly with new methods, and the case reopened. In other cases, the evidence may have deteriorated to the point that current methods are unable to review it adequately.

All of the crimes that are discussed in this book have yet to be solved. There may be factors that are solvable within the crimes, but in some cases, there seems to be a lack of evidence that would allow the crime to be solved definitively. In many of these cases, the information is still of interest to those who would like to research it. But any real pursuit of additional evidence or for a way to solve the crime has fallen by the wayside. After all, crimes are being committed every day and they often use the resources of those who would be able to solve those crimes that have been committed in years past.

The information in this book is provided to help you to think. It allows you to see behind-the-scenes in many of the unsolved crimes that are considered to be, in some cases, unsolvable. At some point in the future, somebody may be able to determine the answer to one of these crimes but at this point, the answer is still hidden from view.

2. Salish Sea Foot Discoveries

We open this book with one of the more unusual crimes that has yet to be solved. It started in August 2007, when feet began to wash up on the seashore of the Salish Sea. This sea, which is located in Washington State in the United States and along the coast of British Columbia, has since seen many feet wash ashore. Why it is occurring or where the feet are coming from is a mystery.

According to forensic records five of the feet were from men one from a woman - photo 4

According to forensic records, five of the feet were from men; one from a woman and it was impossible to determine the sex of the victim in three of the other feet. There have also been two matches found, where both feet of the victim has washed ashore. Some of the individuals who lost their feet and, apparently, their lives have been identified, but the rest of the body was never found. There have also been several hoaxes involving fake feet being put in the area.

Many of these feet were still wearing the shoe that apparently was being worn during the time that they lost their foot. The first foot, which was found in August 2007 in British Columbia, has been identified as belonging to a man who was listed as missing. It was thought that the man may have been depressed, but the circumstances surrounding his demise are still unknown. Since then, it is thought that as many as 11 feet have turned up on the shores of British Columbia and in the United States. Many of them have decayed to the point where they are unable to be identified.

One of the most unusual parts about this case is the fact that that there does not seem to be any other body parts showing up. There has been some speculation, however, that there was actually no crime that was involved. Rather, they may have been individuals who died in a boating accident, or perhaps in a plane crash that occurred in 2005. The bodies of these victims have never been recovered, but it may be that the feet naturally detached from the body due to decay.

It may also be possible that there is foul play involved and that somebody is responsible for the feet that are washing up on the seashore. If that is the case, the individuals may have been murdered and weighed down to sink to the bottom of the ocean. As the body continued to decay, the feet may have naturally detached and eventually, washed up on the seashore. It is evident that the feet were not removed intentionally, as there are no marks on the feet, which would suggest that somebody was doing it on purpose.

It has been suggested that feet and other body parts may remain in the ocean for a number of years, before they completely decay. They may also float on the currents of the ocean for 1000 miles or more. One suggestion is that these feet have come from victims of the Asian tsunami, which occurred in 2004, although that has yet to be proven.

There are many theories that surround the Salish Sea foot discoveries. It continues to be something that is of interest to those who live in the area, as well as to others who are interested in the possibility that this may be an ongoing, unsolved crime.

3. Who Shot JFK

One of the most celebrated crimes of all time, which may or may not be unsolved, is the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States. On November 22, 1963 the president was taking part in a parade that was occurring in Dallas, Texas. He was riding in a convertible, with the top down, along with his wife, the driver and Gov. John Connelly and his wife.

During the time that the presidential motorcade was passing through Dealey Plaza, shots rang out and the president was killed. According to official records, three bullets were fired during the assassination. The president was struck two times, with the third shot being a headshot. Gov. John Connelly was hit in the wrist by the second shot.
