This book contains proven steps and strategies on how to use reflexology for healing, pain relief and stress management.
Reflexology is an art of healing that originated from the East. For some, the concepts of this method of healing are difficult to understand. This book will help you understand these concepts and even guide you on how to use them to treat yourself and the people around you.
Just like most Eastern healing concepts, reflexology focuses on bringing and maintaining harmony in a persons body. The ever-flowing life force inside you is the reason why you are alive. When the flow of this life force is disturbed, it can lead to an imbalance within the body. This, in turn, leads to pain, confusion and loss of function of an individual. Eastern medicine uses techniques like reflexology to bring back balance in the flow of this unique form of energy. When done correctly and consistently, it can help the body recover faster from damaging diseases and develop a strong immune system.
Even when a person is healthy, reflexology can be used to build strength, stamina and resistance to ailments. If you want to know how to use it, you should start with the first chapter.
Thanks again for downloading this book, I hope you enjoy it!
Reflexology is a form of healing that aims to improve the overall health of an individual. It is non-invasive and is easy to practice. In fact, most professional reflexologists, used to be merely patients who had felt the effectiveness of the method. After several sessions with a reflexologist, most people decide that they want to learn why reflexology is so effective.
However, before we can go to the details of how to perform a routine reflexology session, we first need to discuss the principles behind the methods. Here is an overview of what reflexology is all about:
- Reflexology is supported by a different belief system from Western medicine
There is a whole belief system behind the practice. When you are with a professional reflexologist, he or she will tell you that these methods should not be used to replace conventional medicine. It works differently from Western medicine. Rather than replacing one with the other, the best practice is to use both of them when trying to treat an ailment.
You should learn the Eastern principles of life force to be able to practice reflexology effectively. By learning these principles, you will know the benefits and limitations of this art of healing.
- Reflexology should be practiced even when we are healthy
Unlike Western medicine, reflexology should be practiced even when you are healthy. The principles that reflexology abides to promote great health in both body and mind. When practiced consistently, it can prevent illnesses for years and improve the quality of health of a person.
- The concepts that govern reflexology were widely accepted in older civilizations
It is known that reflexology originated from China. Reflexology tools were among the artifacts found in dug up Chinese tombs. However, the ancient Chinese were not the only group of people who believed in the presence of energy flow inside the body. The same concepts were believed in ancient Egypt. The same practices of applying pressure for healing were also practiced in this ancient civilization as suggested in the medical scriptures.
Almost all ancient civilizations had their own words that related to life force. In Chinese, this is referred to as Chi. In Japan, they call this energy as Qi. In India, it is referred to as the Prana.
- Modern day reflexology makes use of the knowledge gained from the past
Modern day reflexology is a refined form of the ancient ways of healing from Asia. Variations of the method that we know today have been practiced in ancient civilizations.
The ancient Chinese civilization is the source of the principles of reflexology. Though the idea of a flowing life force within the body is widespread, the Chinese had the most thorough understanding of how it worked and how it can be manipulated for our health.
They believed that life energy flows in our body. An ailment or a disease starts with an imbalance in this energy flow. For the ancient Chinese, reflexology is as spiritual as it is medicinal. We only feel it when there is an imbalance and we need to correct this imbalance or it will become a disease. Though we cannot observe this form of energy with our current technology, we can use the knowledge of the past to try to manipulate it for our wellbeing.
