Beyond The Utopian Ideal: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "Beyond The Utopian Ideal" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

Overview: Most people operate from a fixed idea or concept of how things are supposed to be, rather functioning in the moment, where they can change anything as needed to accomplish and create more. This creates a tremendous limitation. We use conceptual constructs to create a purpose and a sense of rightness. Relationship, sex, sexuality, family, and the future are examples of conceptual constructs. Society is a construct. Culture, religion, and reputation are constructs. These things are not actually real; they are conceptual realities that have been dropped into our existence. We buy into them, and then at some point, we give up our awareness in order to buy the rightness of this reality. We accept the notion that being normal, average, and real-just like everybody else-is the best and only way to be. The problem with conceptual constructs is that they put you into conflict with yourself at every turn. This book is about becoming aware of the ideal concepts and constructs that create limitations and barriers to what is possible for you. The constructs have to come off so you can create a world that works for you.

Introduction

This book is the outgrowth of a seven-day Access Consciousness event we hosted in New Zealand in the Spring of 2012. In the course of doing this event, I became aware that most people live from an ideal scene. They operate from a fixed idea or concept of how things are supposed to be rather than functioning in the moment, where they can change anything as needed to accomplish and create more. They spend their lives trying to create an end result of some kind rather than being in the generative moment of What else is possible? This creates a tremendous limitation.

We use conceptual constructs to create a purpose, a sense of rightness and a lot of other things that dont have to exist in our universe. Relationship, sex, sexuality, family and the future are examples of conceptual constructs. Society is a construct. Culture, religion and reputation are constructs. These things are not actually real; they are conceptual realities that have been dropped into our existence.

We buy into them, and then at some point, we give up our awareness in order to buy the rightness of this reality. We accept the notion that being normal, average and realjust like everybody elseis the best and only way to be. We alter our own reality so we can exist within a structure of the constructs we have taken on, where everything is supposed to look a certain way.

The problem with conceptual constructs is that they put you into conflict with yourself at every turn. Wherever you feel conflicted with yourself, you have gone into a construct. Youre trying to do or be something a construct dictates rather than being you.

This book is about becoming aware of the ideal concepts and constructs that create limitations and barriers to what is possible for you. The constructs have to come off before you can truly be you. They have to come off so you can embrace total consciousness in a different way. They have to come off so you can create a world that works for you.

The Golden Planet

I am writing a historyalthough some people might call it a novelabout the way ideal constructs came into existence. Its called The Golden Planet. On the Golden Planet, there was a sense of communion that doesnt exist here on planet Earth. We had a total sense of oneness with every molecular structure that existed. We had no technology. We had no cars, we had no motors; we had none of that because those things werent necessary. If we wanted something to show up at our house, we didnt have to go out to get it; it would just show up at our house.

One day some techies arrived from a planet called Utopia. The techies had some flashy technology and created the image that they had it all together. We began to see them as greater than ourselves because they had spaceships. We had never considered the idea of going to other planets because we were having too much fun where we were. And if we had wished to be on another planet, we could have simply been there, without the need of a spaceship.

But because the techies were doing things we had never even considered, we began to see them as gods, and we began to adopt their points of view. Thus began a shift from being in oneness and communion with every molecular structure in existence, to buying into the techies utopian ideals or constructs. We bought into the notion that ideals were going to take us beyond the communion and the oneness we already had. But a utopian ideal has nothing to do with what is. Its a construct, an idea; its a substitute for true awareness and true communion.

In the end, we gave up oneness and consciousness for utopian ideals. We valued what we didnt have. We didnt value oneness and consciousness because oneness and consciousness were what we had. Thats the way we get trapped all the timeby valuing what we dont have. This is how conceptual constructs are working in our lives today, and how we end up destroying ourselves and never getting what we truly desire.

(Ive included the first three chapters The Golden Planet at the end of this book in the hope it might inspire you to see what it would be like to live without conceptual constructs.)

Since the time of the Golden Planet, people in all different times and places have bought into utopian ideals. Mankind has been seeking ideals for thousands of years. We have bought into ideals of economic, political and social perfection, some called freedom, some called equality, some called justice. Theyre all utopian ideals. We have created religions. We have written books about utopias and created utopian communities. We have become reformers of human society.

Socialism is a utopia, capitalism is a utopia, communism is a utopia, democracy is a utopia, autocracy is a utopia and dictatorship is a utopia. Hitlers point of view was a utopian ideal. Mussolinis vision was a utopian ideal. None of them are true, none of them are real and none of them work.
