Every True New Years Celebration

In the Spring

Revolutionary times require a new look at the formats of yearly Astrological forecast books. For one thing, why in the world does the modern calendar avoid following the obvious? Why would a New Years holiday be celebrated in the dead of winter? It is Natures season of fallow time, wrapped in the dead, dried biota of what had grown and gone: swaddling clothes for sleeping seeds tucked under snowy blankets. Let the season of Death be celebrated in its own way and time. The ancient pagans in their innocent intelligence simply reveled in the birth of a New Year when spring awakened the resurrection of flowers, leaves, baby animals and life returning.

A new humanity is coming. They will be New Pagans restoring the New Year festivities to their natural place at 20 March, the Vernal Equinox of each year.

Fear not, merrymakers lighting off fireworks at midnight chime of 31 December passing into 1 January. Your hangovers mixing too many drinks with fond memories of the night watch whoopee will not be cancelledever. The New Pagans coming over the horizon of these frightening and uncertain times are hallowers of all things high and low as equally, uniquely divine.

All thats going to happen with your traditional, papist-approved version of New Years Eve is a move backwards ten days in future calendars to the Winter Solstice on 21 December. Yule Time will be your new party time for fireworks and all-nighters when the Earths axis shift busts a move towards the sun in the Northern Hemisphere.

Though we now dance and sing through the valley of the winter season of Death and inert, hibernating life, we will fear no evil, for life and death are intimately entwined. The life-loving people of the future will celebrate Death for they will know it as the pinnacle of Life, the climax. There is an orgasmic end if life is lived and loved well. Moreover, The Yule Tide celebration will light a log on fire freed at last from mercantile Christmas fads. We dance in the Yules firelight to illuminate the darkest day of the year; it marks the end of the waning sun, and conceives its waxing promise of lengthening the days. Deaths turning tide also needs its celebration on the longest night of the year. On the first day of winter, inside her womb, is a fetus year coming. It is not yet apparent in Deaths deep darkness, yet hope hides underneath griefs let-go of past years and decaying seasons disappearing into the fallen-leaf tomb of things.

In the belly of winter-death, life of the new year is conceived.

Why then would one celebrate the cesarean emergence of a new year only ten long nights after Winter Solstice without it coming to full and natural term?

Blame it on Easter creeping ever so slowly back into winter because the Western world since Roman times was generally locked into the lunar Julian Calendar that had leap year issues, for which the time watchers failed to adequately compensate. The Universe is ever on the move and never static, exposing as fault our human expectations and dogmas.

I explained this temporal conundrum in detail in a book about the Mayan Calendar and other epochal reboot traditions, entitled Nostradamus: The End of End Times . I consciously chose not to write on the subject of ancient Mayan timekeepers and their prophecies before their calendar rebooted on 21 December 2012.

I think I may be the only author in the Body-Mind-Spirit forecasting field that didnt burden the world with yet another tome added to several thousand published before the anticipated day. I wasnt going to add to all the second guessing and framing of the Mayans as the ancient star gazers that perfectly marked better than anyone else either the end of the world or a new golden age-changing moment lifting collective consciousness.

Nope. My book wasnt going to get lost in that crowd of New Age sheeple.

A rogue scholar, as Ive come to be defined, publishes his book on the Mayan prophecies AFTER all the New Age anticipation and hysteria around The Great Happening became The Great Wentjust as I predicted it would 25 years earlier. My book would help explain why it was all too Chicken Little too late, after we had passed into the Post-Mayan (WTF happened?!) Era.

Im not at all being disrespectful of the Mayans. Their remarkable time calculations were accomplished without the aid of computers, yet I contend, even these most accurate of ancient epochal, time-to-reboot soothsayers were off by 13 years. Rather than merely rely on the Mayan Calendars count, I did something all the Chicken Little authors apparently didnt do. I looked up at the sky and calculated what is called in astrology, the Orb of Influence of the opposition/conjunction of the Sun and Earth lining up with the Milky Way Galaxys center point just off the arrow tip of the constellation of Sagittarius the Archers poised bow. The creeping movement of the Suns precession through the sky taking 50.3 seconds of arc per year as it is seen from Earth would give us a waxing orb of influenceentering the coal sack of cosmic dust that hides galactic centerstarting in 1986. It would become an exact alignment between the Winter solstices of 1998 and 1999, after which the orb of waning influence would take us out to 2016. Thus, the time when galactic center aligned exactly with the Sun and Earth happened in-between the Winter Solstices of 1998-1999 and not on 21 December 2012.
