Bayles was Director of the Westminster Institute for Ethics and Human Values at Westminster College, London, Canada, before taking his present post as Professor of Philosophy, University of Florida, Gainesville. He is the author of Principles of Legislation: The Uses of Political Authority (1978), Morality and Population Policy (1980), Professional Ethics (1981), Reproductive Ethics (1984), and Principles of Law (1987). He is the editor of Contemporary Utilitarianism (1978), Ethics and Population (1976), and the coeditor of Medical Treatment of the Dying: Moral Issues (with Dallas M. High, 1978), Right Conduct: Theories and Applications (with Kenneth Henley, 1982), and Justice, Rights and Tort Law (with Bruce Chapman, 1983). More than seventy of his articles have been published in professional journals. |
