South Africas Nobel Peace Prize laureates, Chief Albert Luthuli, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, FW de Klerk and Nelson Mandela, are honoured with statues at the V&A Waterfront. Nearby, a swing bridge spanning two harbour quays allows vessels to pass.

An der V&A Waterfront werden Sdafrikas Friedensnobelpreistrger, Huptling Albert Luthuli, Erzbischof Desmond Tutu, FW de Klerk und Nelson Mandela durch Statuen verehrt. Nicht weit davon verbindet eine Schwenkbrcke zwei Hafenkais und ermglicht Schiffen die Durchfahrt.

Au V&A Waterfront, un hommage sous forme de statues est rendu aux laurats du Prix Nobel de la Paix, le Chef Albert Luthuli, lArchevque Desmond Tutu, FW de Klerk et Nelson Mandela. Tout prs, un pont tournant qui enjambe deux quais permet le passage des bateaux.

A tour of Robben Island begins with a boat trip from the V&A Waterfont, and may include sightings of southern right or humpback whales. The island is rich in history, having been used as a pantry, quarantine, British prison, infirmary, leper colony, garrison and, during apartheid, a maximum security prison for political prisoners, including Nelson Mandela. It is currently a museum and World Heritage Site.

Die Insel ist geschichtstrchtig und wurde als Vorratslager, Quarantne- oder Krankenstation, Gefngnis, Leprakolonie, Garnison und whrend der Apartheid sogar als Hochsicherheitsgefngnis fr politische Gefangene, darunter Nelson Mandela, genutzt. Jetzt ist sie Weltkulturerbe und Museum.

Murrays Bay Harbour, which was constructed at the beginning of World War II in an effort to protect Cape Town from potential sea attacks, is where visitors first alight onto Robben Island soil.
