Introduction
This is not the end all be all guide to starting and growing a Kindle publishing business.
If you already have a book or two published, then this book is not for you.
However, if you havent started publishing just yet then this book can help you fast-track your education.
Expect this guide to be short and sweet.
It means no fluff and no unusable material.
You can pretty much read this book in 30 minutes or less.
After reading this guide, you should have a great overview of how the whole process works. Also, you should be able to apply all the lessons and you should be ready to write and publish a potential money maker.
The goal is not to be a best-seller.
The goal is just to get started and take action.
Youll be amaze at how fast you can get results once you published your book. Lets get started shall we?
One - Find Your Topic
I only have 2 ways when choosing a topic.
  1. The Do I care and know about this?
For the sake of this conversation, I will assume that you will write your own book. You can outsource your book writing and everything else but I always suggest to my students that they should the grunt work first especially when theyre just getting started.
When choosing a topic, I make sure that I know something about the topic or Im at least interested about the topic.
Say youre a motivational speaker, then the best topic to write about (obviously) is the motivational niche.
What I will do is find a sub-niche of the motivation niche.
So instead of writing about motivation itself, I will write something about the topics related about motivation.
Some examples are positive thinking, productivity, how to stop procrastination, self discipline etc.
Also, when writing a book, I try to limit it to 50 pages.
Most readers today would prefer reading a book in one or two seating. Also, youll get to earn more if you have a series of books instead of just 1 big book.
  1. The Looking for Profits technique
The second method is done through research.
What I would do is go to Amazon.com and look at kindle bestseller for whatever topic I am interested in.
The most profitable topics right now are:
1. Fiction Romance Novels and its sub-niches
2. Cookbooks
3. Self help niche
Lets do a search for cookbook recipes. You just have to go to Amazon kindle best sellers and youll see all of it.
Just by looking at the current best sellers, you can come up with a lot of book ideas to write about.
From chicken recipes, salad recipes, Chinese recipes etc.
You can literally spend the whole day just looking at the topics that you can write (or outsource) about.
Once you chose your topic, its now time to write your book.
Now, I really cant give you a formula for writing fiction so Im just going to assume that you will write a non-fiction book.
Two - Outline the Book
This is the easiest way I know to write a book outline.
YOU COPY.
Dont worry; youre not going to plagiarize anything.
What you can do is to go to Amazon.com and find books about the topic that you want to write about.
Say you want to write about productivity.
Go on and search productivity
Now, just open a new tab for at least 3 books that you will find.
Kindle books always show a preview if you click on the cover of the book.
You will see the table of contents.
This is where you will get your idea of how your book will look like content wise.
Lets look at another one Just by looking at these outlines I come up with - photo 1
Lets look at another one.
Just by looking at these outlines I come up with my own book outline about - photo 2
Just by looking at these outlines, I come up with my own book outline about productivity.
Introduction
Chapter 1- The Problem with Productivity
Chapter 2- Fix your mindset first
Chapter 3- Your Morning Routine
Chapter 4- 7 Habits of Highly Productive People
Chapter 5- Keeping the Habit
Conclusion
Now, that outline is not perfect or Im not saying that it is final, but thats a pretty good start considering I did that for like 40 seconds.
What you should do is find more possible topics for your book.
Three - Formatting the Book
This is how I format my book in 2 minutes or less.
Please know that there are other ways to do it but this is the fastest way to do it.
1. Save your word file as a HTML file
2. Right click and click send to compressed folder.
This is what I will upload on Amazon Thats it For font size I always use - photo 3
This is what I will upload on Amazon.
Thats it!
For font size, I always use Time New Roman. Theres no need to be a drama queen about the font. Use 14, 16 or 18, it really depends on your preference.
Four - Your Book Covers
This is the second thing that a reader looks at after your title.
Take some time to create your cover and make sure that its clean and enticing.
Theres 3 ways to do this and by that, I mean 3 ways I personally do it.
1. Canva
This is probably the easiest way to get started and you can still produce high quality book covers.
You dont have to worry about formatting the size since canva has already done that for you.
Go on and sign up for a free account and test it for yourself.
Just choose the kindle template and start creating your own cover.
2. Photoshop
The next way to do it is through Photoshop. If you have some experience on PS editing then I definitely suggest that you use this.
You can also get PS templates and just edit the text for your book.
3. Fiverr
If you dont want to worry about book covers, then you can just outsource it on fiverr for $5.
Just look for kindle book covers and youll find a lot of professionals willing to do your cover for the price of a Starbucks coffee.
Five - Uploading the Book
To upload your book, simple go to BOOKSHELF and click CREATE TITLE. (This is assuming you already have a FREE account) If you dont have any yet, you can sign up at https://kdp.amazon.com
Back to uploading your book.

The uploading part is pretty much explanatory.
What I want to teach you is the description and the keywords part.
The description is what the readers will see below the title.
