Preface
I originally published this book in June 2014 with the intent of educating the masses of the risk of a fast-growing extreme exercise program. In my first edition I cited current research, anecdotal evidence, and provided scientific theory as to how a specific extreme exercise program could seriously harm you. Can this program help you? Sure. You can lose weight, gain muscle mass, but most exercise specialists across the world are asking: at what cost? I am happy to say it only took 4 months for my book to scare this companys legal and business team into finding a way to stop me.
I cannot name the name of the exercise program for their legal team will likely shut down my printing company on grounds of trademark infringement as they did in October 2014. If you are picking up this book and are still unsure of the companys name, I am positive you can infer it from the title Double-Crossed. If you still are struggling at identifying this extreme exercise program continue reading and search the sources I have provided below. Throughout the book you will see my citation of X-Company. This will be my only means of addressing this extreme exercise program without infringing on their trademark rights.
After X-Company used a false trademark infringement to shut my book down, I realized the opportunity for me to add additional data and publications to my book. As such, you will find even more current research and up-to-date news. This shows my dedication to remaining current with the literature and evidence.
Probably the key purpose of this second edition is to ensure I can enact my freedom of speech a God given right of all Americans. We all should be able to freely publish a book, whether positive or negative, about anothers concept or product. This stems further discussion, debate, and potential progress. Doing so can also provide further divide, which is something I am not interested in creating.
During the four months of open publication I received much feedback. Some of the positive feedback centered on the need for more regulation in the fitness industry and how my book covered multiple areas of this extreme exercise program. I received feedback from those participating in X-Companys exercise program, some of whom are my friends. Several agreed that the extreme exercise program was not quite-right for everyone or was a good addition to a traditional exercise program. They saw major limitations in the exercise program, knew it could be better, and even cited that it grew out proportion from how it was meant to be started. A significant portion of those exercising in X-Companys program provided little meaningful discussion or feedback. Again, the purpose of this book was to not drive a further wedge between traditional exercise and X-Companys exercise it was to start the discussion for a better future for everyone.
I hope you enjoy this second edition and that it paints a path for lifelong health and safe exercising for you and your family.

Introduction
X-Company is a global phenomenon. Some may call it a workout, a way of life, a fad, or even a cult. Regardless of what you call it, each year nearly 1 million people participate in X-Company in some capacity. The entity X-Company has grown at a blazing rate with over ten thousand centers in eleven years.
Growth and interest in an exercise-related activity is fabulous news for many Western countries that are struggling with obesity and chronic health issues. Countless research articles and scientists have pointed to the benefits of physical activity and exercise. However, most if not all of these esteemed researchers have examined traditional exercise modes and routines, not X-Company. Thousands of subjects over the course of several decades have been tested, measured, and progressed on many of the traditional exercise methods within the scientific literature. Is X-Company too young to be held equivalent to these traditional exercise methods? Have its methods and safety been properly vetted? As an exercise specialist and researcher, I believe, based on research and sound exercise theories, that X-Company is not the remedy for our health crisis. Sure, you might lose weight and gain strength doing X-Companybut at what cost?
