PAINDEMIC
Paindemic is a brutally honest portrayal of our current sick care medical model. No other book gives you such an in-depth and thought provoking overview of how pain should be assessed and treated. Dr. Cady has truly outdone herself!
Jamie L. Guyden, M.D., Integrative Medicine Physician, Austin, Texas
Paindemic is a book equally important for people in pain, health care professionals, and health care policy-makers. If you have persisting pain, you know that you need expert knowledge of this. If you are a health professional, you know it is the most common reason for patient visits, and a huge gap in professional education. Dr. Cady provides you with evidence-based information intending to compel you to change. She clearly points to the multifaceted nature of pain, asking us all to consider the manner in which we understand pain, and the manner in which we treat people with it. Given the personal costs to 20% of our populations, and the financial cost to health care agencies and society in general, we really should be considering this a Paindemic.

I personally face the have a pill merry-go-round of the current medical model. Proactive with my care and health, I find my legitimate pain concerns tend to be dismissed until the pains become difficult to overcome; only to be offered more medicines I want to avoid. Enough! Paindemic opens the discussion for changes to the current protocol of the medical system. Dr. Cady brings to the forefront the ever growing problem, as only a patient with inside information can do. She understands the constraints faced by the medical teams while bringing into focus the needs of patients. I look forward to more medical personnel joining her discussions for change.

Paindemic is an enlightening and informative journey through the multifaceted aspects of pain management in todays medical environment through the eyes of a physician dedicated to the treatment of pain management. The book addresses the current environment of both medicine and insurance providing a timely and important message for all of us, whether we suffer from chronic pain or not!
Jana Sanders, Insurance Professional, Austin, Texas
It is the most helpful and useful book about pain that I have ever seen.
Betty Hinds, Biologist, Texas
Its so refreshing to see a physician that is willing to explore alternatives to surgery and narcotic medication treatments for pain management. This is a must-read for anyone who wants to learn more about managing their pain conservatively.
Rebecca Osborne, Physical Therapist, Dallas, Texas
The book Paindemic reads almost as two; a guide for health care providers and a guide for patients. On one hand, it is a very good reminder to medical professionals that not having an answer does not necessarily mean you cant help your patients. I hope this book will encourage and expedite a greater collaboration between mainstream and alternative professionals, which is just beginning to happen. On the other hand, Paindemic is an excellent guide for patients to take control of their health and become active participants in their wellness. Medicine, health, and wellness care must be led by patients themselves and facilitated by the professionals from which they seek care.
Kerri Brooker, Chiropractor, Winnipeg, Canada
This book is an absolute must-read for anyone who is or has a loved one suffering from chronic pain. Dr. Cady has put together an excellent one-stop chronic pain resource that will inform, educate, and guide you in navigating todays complex healthcare system.

Caring for my aging Grandmother has been an interesting learning experience. Reading Paindemic gave me a glimpse into the scope and magnitude of the challenges my grandmother faces when it comes to having her chronic pain issues addressed. Aging is not for the weak! Thanks to reading this book I have even more compassion for my grandmother and a greater understanding of her experience; specifically of the troubles she has faced in the medical community. Most importantly, Ive been given tools and vocabulary to use in an effort to aid her in getting her basic needs met.
Debra Hines Hathaway, Caretaker, Austin, Texas
I have known Dr. Cady for many years. Her drive for learning information and empowering others has always been an admirable trait. She sets an example of what to strive for and is an inspiration to many. This book is yet another opportunity for her to help enlighten and enhance peoples lives beyond those who are already lucky enough to be part of her world.
