Whale Cove can be glimpsed from the Oregon Coast Trail or from Rocky Creek State Scenic Viewpoint.
Ferns colonize a large Sitka spruce on the trail to the tip of Cape Lookout.
Del Rey Beach near Gearhart is characteristic of the wide beaches north of Tillamook Head.
The Peter Iredale ran aground south of the mouth of the Columbia River in 1906; its rusting iron hull is accessible at low tide.
