Federal guidelines for testimonials require that typical results must be clearly stated. Typical Master Cleanse results are weight loss. (Ten days on a 6601320 calorie per day diet will do that for people.)

It is also dedicated to those who have the ability to observe for themselves rather than to listen to authorities who learned by memorizing prior authorities who never observed for themselves.
William Harvey, the doctor who first observed and then announced that the heartnot the lungscirculated the blood, well understood that problem. He wrote (translated from 17th century English):
I tremble to speak the truth of what I have discovered because it may make all mankind my enemies. Habit and popular opinion become second nature. Old ideas once planted, sprout deep roots and respect for our elders influences all men. Still, the die is cast and I must follow my love of truth and trust in the honesty of civilized minds.
Those who seek truth and knowledge, never consider themselves so thoroughly educated that they are not interested in learning more from anyone they can. They are not so narrow-minded to believe that the science taught them by their elders is so complete that there is nothing left to learn. On the contrary, many maintain we still dont know everything. Fasting in general and juice fasting in particular have fallen out of favor in the last hundred years. A hundred years ago it was common to hear doctors and ministers encourage people to fast to regain and maintain vibrant good health as well as find themselves closer to the Holy Spirit. Yet there are some bright lights still among us.
Alan Cott, MD, wrote a bestselling book in 1975 called Fasting: The Ultimate Diet. He followed it with Fasting as a Way of Life a year later. In that later book (pp. 68-69), he said:
If fasting is so wondrous, the question might well be asked, Why arent more of us in the medical profession championing it?
The primary discoveries of Harvey, Lister [washing hands to prevent spreading germs], Pasteur and many others were vigorously resisted from within the profession. Rene Laennec was expelled from his medical society after inventing the stethoscope
I find it incongruous that doctors inexperienced in the fast immediately talk about fasting in terms of danger, yet casually prescribe enormous doses of tranquilizers and sleeping pills for periods of many years, as well as antibiotics and other drugs having the potential for unpleasant, sometimes irreversible side effects, addiction, and a high incidence of [illness].
The Journal of the American Medical Association published the opinion that fasting provides the best method of self-discipline needed by the obeseone that can be repeated with beneficial effect.
And most importantly, it is dedicated to Stanley Burroughs for developing the Master Cleanse and publishing it.

THE MASTER CLEANSE HAS ROUTINELY produced such remarkable results that it inspires others and therefore has survived without advertising. Surveys I conducted in 2005 and 2011 show the average person who completes a 10-day Master Cleanse inspires at least three more people to do the Master Cleanse.
This second book was written to accomplish two purposes: answer your questions and those of your friends. Most likely, they will ask you how to do it and call you with questions once they begin. I hope this book helps you get them the best possible results. After all, they are your friends.
Do not worry if you have only done one 10-day or longer Master Cleanse. After I did my first Master Cleanse, I had many people asking me questions. I just opened The Master Cleanser, found the answer and read it to them on the phone. This task is now much easier with this book or my other book, Lose Weight, Have More Energy & Be Happier in 10 Days. They both have the most frequent questions broken out alphabetically and a table of contents. The Master Cleanser has neither of those.
If You Want It Done Right ...
Y ou have heard it said, If you want it done right, do it yourself. This is especially true when it comes to your health. Your body is different from other bodies in blood type, capacity to handle work, food, sugar, alcohol, etc. Penicillin will kill the bacteria causing your infection, but if you are allergic to it you could die instead. So, you must learn what works for you and your body. You, factually, are the only person who can make the determination of what is helpful or not for you. Health professionals can give you valuable information and do other things, but ultimately, the buck stops with you. So you have to learn to use good judgment along with your experience and that includes determining if the information in this book is useful to you.
