About the Authors
Carole A. Levitt
Carole Levitt is a nationally recognized author and speaker on Internet research. She has over twenty years of experience in the legal field as a law librarian, legal research and writing professor, California attorney, and Internet trainer. She is a skilled online searcher, focusing on legal, public record, investigative, and business research. She is also coauthor of The Cybersleuths Guideto the Internet (IFL Press 2009).
As President and founder of Internet For Lawyers (www.netforlawyers.com), she provides customized Internet research training to legal professionals (with continuing legal education credit). Ms. Levitt has presented at the ABA TechShow; LegalWorks; LegalTech; the annual meetings of the American Bar Association (ABA), the National Association of Bar Executives, the Association of Continuing Legal Education, and the California State Bar Association; the worldwide Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher corporate attorney retreat; law firms, bar associations; and library associations throughout the country. Ms. Levitt serves on the Executive Council of the ABAs Law Practice Management (LPM) Section, as well as serving as the acquisitions chair for the sections publishing board. Previously, she was chair of the California State Bars Law Practice Management & Technology Section and served on the Executive Board of the Los Angeles County Bar Law Practice Management Section, among various other professional association activities.
She was a regular contributor to the Los Angeles Lawyer magazines Computer Counselor column for eight years and has also written for numerous magazines, newsletters, and Web sites such as CaliforniaLawyer, Trial, The Internet Lawyer, Computer and Internet Lawyer, ResearchAdvisor, Nashville Lawyer, FindLaw, CEB Case N Point, and LLRX.
Ms. Levitt received her Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School, where she graduated with distinction and was a member of the schools law review. She earned her BA in Political Science and her MLS at the University of Illinois. Ms. Levitt can be contacted at .
Mark E. Rosch
As Vice President of Internet For Lawyers (IFL), Rosch is the developer and manager of the Internet For Lawyers Web site. He writes and speaks about how to use the Internet for research and on technology implementation for the legal community. He is also coauthor of The Cybersleuths Guide to the Internet (IFL Press 2009).
Mr. Rosch has also written about the application of computer technology in the law office for California Lawyer, Law Technology News, LawOffice Computing, Los Angeles Lawyer, Los Angeles Daily and other publications. Additionally, he has presented at the annual meetings of the ABA, the National Association of Bar Executives, the Association of Continuing Legal Education, the California State Bar, and in-house at various firms.
Mr. Rosch is a member of the ABA and served as a Vice Chair of its LPM Section education board. He is also a member of the Association of Continuing Legal Education (ACLEA), having served as chair of ACLEAs entrepreneurs section and its marketing section. He has also served on the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Public Relations Steering Committee, and the Television Publicity Executives Committee.
During his nearly twenty years of marketing experience, Mr. Rosch has developed and supervised the publicity, promotions, and marketing campaigns for numerous and varied clients, from legal portals to new media developers. He has also provided Web management consulting to the State Bar of California Law Practice Management & Technology Sections Web site and various law firms and solo practitioners.
