Henry not only speaks to men showing them there is hope help for a way out of the bondage of pornography, but he does it from a compassionate and understanding heart. He understands the battles he knows how to win the war. Victory is assured for the man who knows God.
However, this is not a book just for men. Women need to understand the war that men wage every day. The insights in this book can enable them to be more understanding t o help their sons, husbands, and brothers to know how to pray. Women also need to understand that men are turned on by sight. They are not dirty-minded men they are men! And we have a duty as women to dress what befits a woman of God rather than the culture.

The Silent War is a book for such a time as this. As a 25-year former pornography addict, I wish that I had read a book like this before the addiction took root.
Phil Burress, President
Citizens for Community Values
The Silent War addresses a very sensitive and critical subject with both biblical accuracy and compassion. It does not take lightly the severity of sin and at the same time explains and applauds Gods complete ability to give victory over temptation and addiction. On the subject of sexual temptation, its a must-read.

Sad to say, many families, including Christian, are being torn apart by the use of pornography. Henry Rogers understands this battle from personal experience and shares with compassion how to be free from its stranglehold.
Beverly LaHaye, Founder and Chairman
Concerned Women for America
If it can happen to King David, it can happen to anyone. Falling prey to the lust of the eye has brought down many men both great and small and the temptation today is as great and as prevalent as it has ever been. Magazines, videos, and the Internet make access to pornography easy for the average man. One can learn both how to understand the power of pornography and how to break free from it in The Silent War. Henry Rogers has hit the proverbial nail on the head with this book.
Tim Wildmon, Vice President
American Family Association
Pornography is a ravenous cancer destroying modern society. As dangerous as pornography is itself, it is a gateway to even more grievous sexual immorality. We must not be naive about the impact and presence of pornography. Henry Rogers is a foot soldier in the war against this wicked weapon from Satans arsenal. In his book The Silent War , he clearly communicates the battle plan for victory. This book is must-reading for moms and dads who are trying to rear their children in a sex-obsessed culture. This book is must-reading for all men for none of us are immune from pornographys devious lure.
Dr. Richard Land, President
The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission
Its the #1 addiction facing men in America today! The battle is silent and discreet, slowly destroying men and their relationship with their families, while driving a wedge between themselves and God.
The Silent War is eye-opening! Henry Rogers has the courage to go where few have gone. Through his own struggles with sexual temptation, Henry reveals the real price of pornography while offering hope for those looking and needing a way out. This is a must-read!

Acknowledgments
This is the fun part of writing... thanking the people who helped make this possible! I used to think that God put Kerby Anderson in my path to help me get this book published. I couldnt have done it without him and was amazed that he was willing to invest time in a would-be author that he hardly knew. After all, he is an author, nationally syndicated talk show host, and president of Probe Ministries. And me? Im not even a household name on my street. That didnt seem to matter to Kerby, though.
Ill never forget the day he asked me for book proposals to pass out to various publishers. Over time Kerby became much more than the cheapest literary agent ever to get a book published. He became my friend.
Every book needs an editor. Violet Vickery spent hours going over my manuscript armed only with a red pen. Its a weapon she knows how to use well. If editing were an Olympic event, she would bring home the gold. She is more than an editor, though. She, too, is a dear friend and prayer warrior who took on the project because of our friendship.
Working for Norm Miller, the chairman of the board for Interstate Batteries, is a joy. His trust and confidence in me is humbling. I remember when we went together to a Texas prison to participate in a Bill Glass Weekend of Champions. We were teamed together in maximum security as we shared our faith with inmates. When I finished talking to one inmate I saw Norm, several cells away, on his knees on the concrete floor, talking to another inmate. That picture has been photographed on the table of my heart. He inspires me to grow in my relationship with Christ by the way he lives.
Dan Panetti and Julie Lunsford from the Dallas Association for Decency are a wonderful encouragement to me along with the DAD board of directors. I love them all and they are a great team that is making a difference in Dallas... for the sake of our families.
In Memphis, Carolyn McKenzie from Citizens for Community Values was a huge help in allowing me the opportunity to talk with women who were once part of but now out of the sex industry. Her heart for these women is bigger than the state of Texas.
Of course, I would be remiss if I forgot two champions of the decency fight. El Arnold is the founder of the Dallas Association for Decency, and retired FBI agent Bill Kelly has been involved in the fight for years. El Arnold inspired my passion for making a difference and Bill Kelly has been a tireless source of support.
Landra Carroll is my assistant at Interstate Batteries. Not only is she a trusted co-worker, but she accompanied me on several interviews with women from the adult entertainment industry. She models for me the heart of a servant.
Im thankful to Jim and Dianna Fletcher, Judy Lewis, and Janell Robertson at New Leaf Press who took a risk on a new author writing about a difficult and sensitive subject. I appreciate the excellent work they do.
The one who had the greatest confidence in me is my loving wife, Kathy. Writing a book is time-consuming and requires great sacrifice. In the four years of research and writing, Kathy never complained. All she knows how to do is encourage. She is indeed my reward in life (Eccles. 9:9).
