Playing in Style

Fortnite is a game that is jam-packed with
colorful characters. A normal match has
100 players. It is very rare for two of them to
look exactly alike. Some characters look
like regular humans. They have all kinds of
cool clothes and accessories. Other
characters look like animals, weird
creatures, or even a hot dog with legs!

Filling Your Locker

New Fortnite players dont have many
options for changing their characters looks.
Instead, they have to fill their in-game
locker with skins and other cosmetic
items. There are two main ways to do this.
One is to spend V-Bucks in Fortnite s
in-game store. The other is to play the
game and level up the Battle Pass .

Watch Your Spending

V-Bucks cost real money. You get about 100 of them for each
dollar you spend. That might seem like a lot. But be careful! It is
easy to spend more than you planned.

A Whole New
Look

The main way to change your characters
look is to equip a new outfit. An outfit is a
full head-to-toe appearance your character
can take on. There are hundreds of outfits to
choose from. And Fortnite s developers
are always adding new ones to the game.
That means youll never run out of new
styles to try.

Customize Your Style

Some outfits have options you can choose from. For example,
you might be able to change the color of clothing. Or you might
get to decide whether your character wears a mask. These
options are different depending on which outfit you use.

Wrapping Up Your
Weapons

Outfits arent the only kinds of skins in
Fortnite . One other option is to equip
weapon wraps. These change the color or
pattern that appears on your weapons
during a match. You can equip a different
wrap for each weapon category. For
example, you could have one wrap for
pistols and another for shotguns.

Not Just a
Backpack

You can also equip items called Back Bling.
These might be as simple as basic
backpacks in different shapes and colors.
But Back Bling can also be a lot wilder. Want
to put a cape or a giant set of wings on your
characters back? What about a hamster
wheel or a piece of sushi? You can do all of
that and more!

Good-Looking
Gliders

You can also change the look of the glider
you use to reach the Fortnite island after
jumping from the Battle Bus. There are
gliders that look like helicopters and jet
planes. There are also wacky ones that look
like pizza or an ice cream cone. But the most
impressive gliders are just simple
umbrellas. The only way to get an umbrella
is to finish a match in first place!

Cool Tools

When you start playing Fortnite , you will use
a basic pickaxe to break things apart and
collect building supplies. But soon you will
unlock more interesting harvesting
tools . They might look like huge battle
axes or brightly colored balloons. You could
even swing a giant pizza cutter. These tools
all work exactly the same way. Some just
look cooler than others!

Time to Dance

Of course, it wouldnt be Fortnite without a
little dancing. Dances are some of the most
popular emotes in the game. But there
are many other emotes you can use, too. For
example, you might want to make your
character clap. Or maybe a simple
thumbs-up is what youre looking for.

Multiplayer Moves

Some emotes require more than one player. For example, it takes
two people to do a high five. For these kinds of emotes, both
players need to stand near each other and press the emote
button.

Making Your
Mark

The last main type of cosmetic item in Fortnite
is called a spray. A spray is an image you can
place on walls and other surfaces during a
match. You can do this to show where youve
been. You can also leave messages for
teammates. Sprays can be anything from an
arrow to a picture of a Fortnite character.
