The Porn Star Guide to Great Sex
MR. MARCUS
Im dedicating this book to everyone who has ever spent time thinking about sex way more than they should.
And to my family and friends, who shook their heads, but still gave me a handshake, a hug, or a smile. I appreciate your support, definitely. This book is for you.
Thank you.
This book was written with a lot of thought, experience, and help; it would not have been possible without the vision of Tracy Sherrod. Her foresight helped create a path into a new form of sexual education.
I didnt have the experience to write a book, and although I knew what I wanted to write, without the help of Carol Taylor I wouldnt have been able to write this book correctly. She pulled, pushed, and persuaded the details out of me that were necessary to make it happen, and for that Im grateful.
I also want to thank Monique Patterson and St. Martins Press for being bold and bolder.
Thanks, also, to my family, whose support has helped to make this possible.
Im thrilled to be writing the foreword to this book. As a sex educator for many years, I know there can never be too many books out there about sex, sexuality, and sexual expression. Sex is so personal that we do well to hear about it from as many different people, angles, and experiences as possible. Women write many sex-advice books aimed at both genders and we seem to forget that half the world is male, and they have important things to contribute to the conversation about sex, pleasure, and relationships.
Its nice to say something nice about a fellow professional who cares passionately about what he does, and wants to be the best at it. Not all porn performers are especially gifted at sex, believe it or not. A surprising number of them dont have much of a sex life off camera, preferring to save it for work. Mr. Marcus is that rare breed of performer: He likes sex and has a lot of iton his own timewithout a camera present and with people who like him for who he is. He never forgets that sex is supposed to be fun.
People often want to know what makes for a good male sex performer.
Beside the obvious abilities a man has to possess in order to fill the job description, what makes any partner fun to work with is whether or not he can let himself enjoy what hes doing. Its our job as professionals to inspire a good time in the audience and its impossible to do that if were not having a good time, ourselves. Its easier to be turned on than to act turned on, and a man who can make an intimate, two-person party in a room full of people allows us to make magic for those watching at home. It goes double for a man who can make a twelve-person party seem like a walk in the park. Ive found relatively few such men in my quarter-century of making adult movies and they quickly become favorites. Mr. Marcus is one of them.
I dont recall exactly when I met him, but I do recall exactly my reaction: Wow! He was the whole package, screen partnerwise. He was handsome, with deep chocolate eyes and a sly smile, and the most kissable lips in porn. He had good manners. He looked you in the eye and was genuinely interested in the person behind them. I happen to love his body type. He was a sexy gentleman.
My nickname for him came in an instant: Catnip. Why? He was irresistible to women. They just couldnt get enough of him and the way he could focus on them so completely during a scenewhich is so sexy on its own! He makes each woman feel like there is no one else with whom hed rather be spending time. No partner of his ever felt she was just another scene, and you can trust me when I say that that is an incredible rarity in our line of work. The great thing about it was that even though he was the same with the other women with whom he worked, none of us ever felt shorted, slighted, or in any way jealous of one another. This is a testament to what Mr. Marcus has learned about sex and women, and why its so good to have a book by him to join the others in our sex-help libraries.
Enjoy the book and enjoy the homework!

The orgy is well into its fifth hour when the director finally calls, Cut! Almost instantly, the unbridled lust that has been crackling throughout the small adult- film set gives way to wholesale fatigue. Sweaty, naked women collapse on leather sofas and air mattresses. Men who only moments before had seemed like paragons of stamina now stagger about, spent, clumsily picking up belts, boxers, and other articles of clothing scattered about the floor. Even the film crew stretches and yawns.
But the director isnt quite done. I need one more scene, guys. And its gotta be hot. He peers through a tangle of bodies, past some of the biggest names in American pornography and settles on a stocky, half-dressed man in a Nike cap. Come on, Marcus. Help me out here.
And so, after five hours, four women, and three orgasms, even after all of his other male peers have called it quits for the day, Mr. Marcus, Americas newest porn king, gets it up.
The Making of a Porn Star
When I first became interested in the adult entertainment industry I was just a young guy who wanted to have sex with beautiful women. When I first opened a porn magazine it confirmed what I suspected about women; they werent so different from men. They were sexual creatures, many with the same intense sexual desires as men.
Growing up, all I had was the male perspective; it was about what I wanted a woman to do to me. In discovering the porn industry I saw the infinite possibilities of what sex can be. Id get mine and shed get hers. I got into the industry in 1994 and Ive been working steadily ever since.
I shot porn nearly every day for a year. I learned how to keep my dick hard, my thoughts focused, and to come on command. Things that other people struggled with, I taught myself how to do, daily and without fail. In the beginning I was like any other rookie; cocky, eager, talented, and determined, but without discipline. What I now make look easy is the result of fifteen years of mental and physical discipline. It clearly didnt come overnight. I failed many times, and some of those times were devastating. How did I come back from performance failure? I had to learn how to let things go.
In sex, we make an impression quickly, whether its our size, technique, or stamina. In the world of porn I was graded on a much bigger scale. I was big, strong, good-looking, and able to fuck twenty women in a single day. Then at the end of that day go back to being just another guy taking care of my family and living my dream. Those polarizing worlds gave me a unique perspective about what I do and how it affects people.
Over the years people have come to me for all kinds of advice: How do you keep from coming too quick? or How can I make my girl come? Questions about anal sex and if its safe to swallow cum and How can you get it to taste better? I get so many questions on the street, at conventions, on my MySpace page, and on my Web site www.mrmarcus.com, I figured the best way to answer them would be to write a book. The Porn Star Guide to Great Sex is that book.
The women Ive known over the years have all taught me something. Like what drives a woman to orgasm and what keeps her coasting along the edge. Women have taught me how to kiss better, where best to place my hands during doggy style, and when to just let her grind when shes on top. What words make a woman wetter during sex and where to give a good hard slap when she needs a little extra something to make her come hard.
