In and of themselves, differences are just differences. But some people (and animals) make a difference that makes a difference in my life and my work. In one way or the other, they all assisted me in writing this book.
It goes without saying that I very much appreciate the contributions of my colleagues, students, and above all my clients, who have helped me discover, apply, and improve my work over the years.
I thank Deborah Malmud for publishing the English translation (this book was originally written in Dutch) and everyone else who devoted their time and energy to making this book a reality.
To my husband, I am grateful for your continuing love and support. To my four Italian cats, mille grazie for keeping me company during the many pleasant hours of writing.
