Jeff is a lifelong martial artist. He achieved the rank of black belt in two styles of kung fu by age eighteen. He boxed in the amateurs and served two years with 19th SFG, RI Army National Guard while in college. Hes currently a Gracie Barra BJJ blue belt, under Samuel Braga.

He resides in East Tennessee with the wife of his youth and their two children.
