I first met Dr. David Minkoff when I visited his office in Clearwater, Florida, and he gave me a fascinating tour of a true, cutting - edge , anti - aging facility. Since that time, Ive gotten to know the good doctor on a much deeper level, and I realize that he is far ahead of his time in the areas of true enhancement and healing of the human body. He has extreme knowledge of essential amino acids and how they interact with nearly every aspect of physiology, so when I heard that he was writing a book on proteins and amino acids, I sat back and waited with bated breath.
As expected, Dr. Minkoff delivered. Upon reviewing the original manuscript for what you are about to read, I was blown away. Reading this book will completely reinvent the way you think about your body digesting and assimilating proteins. Youll discover the wonderful world of amino acidsparticularly essential amino acidsand the little - known ways they can heal your gut, recover your muscle, enhance your neurotransmitters, and support healing from a wide variety of chronic diseases and issues.
After Dr. Minkoff taught me the facts about how amino acids trump popular alternative products such as protein powder and collagen, I have adopted a habit of consuming twenty to forty grams of amino acids per day, and Ive witnessed a profound transformation in the realms of mental function, workout recovery, endurance and strength training performance, sleep, and gut stability. I was even able to compete in six Ironman triathlons, including three Ironman World Championships, using a purely ketogenic diet, forgoing sugary gels, goos, and energy bars. I relied upon amino acids as my primary secret weapon, instead. This type of protocol currently flies under the radar in the supplement industry, but I predict that over the next decade, the use of essential amino acids will take the world by storm. After reading this book, you will be equipped and empowered with every shred of knowledge you need to take full advantage of this little - known superfood. Dr. Minkoff has elegantly woven together everything you need to know, so sit back and enjoy the ride!
Foreword
I wanted to become an Olympian when I was seven years old. I thought it would be the coolest thing ever to march in the opening day ceremony parade, walk into the Olympic stadium, and see the lighting of the torch.
With the help of family, friends, mentors and benefactors, I fulfilled my dream of becoming an Olympian. I represented the USA overseas in the Munich, Germany Olympics as a cyclist. I marched into the Olympic stadium during the opening day ceremony.
After the Olympics, I went on to complete my masters degree in sports science at the University of Southern California and became a sports chiropractor. Then, I started my professional career as an advisor to athletesthe ones who become Olympic champions, highly paid professionals, help teams win world championships, and guide businesspeople to become business icons. My clients went on to win over forty Olympic, world, national, and Tour de France championships.
At that point, I thought I was doing well. Olympics: check. Masters in Sports Science and a successful career: check. Identify need, get more education, fill void: check. Id met and exceeded all my major goals and expectations for my life, but then, something happened.
At the height of my career, I developed a rash on my arms and legs that randomly came and went. The medical experts I consulted offered me a variety of diagnoses, ranging from adrenal fatigue to systemic mold infection. None of their treatments helped, and my health began to deteriorate rapidly over the next couple of years until I was incapacitated. I couldnt function mentally or physically, and I was at the lowest point in my life.
Then, I met David Minkoff, MD, and everything changed.
Davids credentials were impeccable: he was a medical doctor with advanced training in pediatrics, had been an emergency room doc, and was on the leading edge of environmental medicine. He had a track record of restoring health to those who werent finding healing through mainstream medical care.
After telling David about my health challenges, he invited me to come and stay at with him and his family at his home in Clearwater, Florida, and hed evaluate me at his clinic, Lifeworks Wellness Center. He concluded that I had mercury poisoning from my silver - mercury dental fillings, came up with a healing protocol, and assured me that I would get well.
His treatment worked.
Davids protocol healed me, but thats not all that happened. I learned more about health and performance while under his care than I had in thousands of hours spent in school!
His care showed me that the body can heal itself when all of its systems work together as a holistic, single, super - system . The healing program included IVs, personalized diets, supplements, allergy desensitization, ozone therapy, neural therapy, and electromagnetic modalities to restore my body. These methods were so effective that I used several of them when I cared for the Tour de France teams and supported racer recovery after each of its brutal twenty - one days.
We won eight straight Tours.
Because of the results I experienced personally and witnessed with the Tour teams, I began referring patients to David. I can honestly say that Davids track record borders on the unbelievable. He cured patients who had suffered years of pain and frustration. He gave hope to people that most traditional doctors considered hopeless. More importantly, he gave them their health which is priceless.
His results are no accident: David is a dedicated student of his chosen discipline. He continuously attends post - graduate conferences and seminars on topics he deems interesting or potentially helpful. Hes a voracious reader and devours all the latest clinical publications. He dedicates all his spare time to discovering how to make extraordinary clinical outcomes the norm. I tell everyone that hes the smartest person I know. My wife refers to him as a living treasure because of his knowledge, genius, and dedication to the art of healing.
David also practices what he preaches; hes competed in more triathlons than I can count over the past several decades. To sum it all up, David is a renaissance man and a leader in his industry.
