Foreword
C hris Freytag has been a good friend of mine for more than 20 years. Ive also had the opportunity to work with her in the business world over the past 7 years. As a working mother and fitness enthusiast myself, Ive been fortunate to benefit from Chriss passion for helping others live better lives by making healthy lifestyle changes.
On a personal level, Chris was my motivator to break through barriers and run my first 10-mile race. She not only coached me but ran the race with me. Thats the kind of person she iswith you right to the end.
On a business level, Ive also had the chance to see Chris motivate and coach. As a former senior vice president for a major department store, I consulted Chris to help the retail chain institute a fitness department in each of their stores. Her knowledge of the needs of the customers and her ability to direct the product contributed to instant success. As the former executive vice president of ShopNBC, I worked directly with Chris as she developed a fitness business from nothing for the home shopping channel. Chris helped the network build an assortment of fitness-related products and accessories. Her ability to relate to people, wherever they are on their health and fitness journeys, created tremendous success for the network, as evidenced by the fantastic sales and the thousands of e-mails Chris received.
Chris is always listening to the needs of people around her. She understands how busy peoples lives are, and, as you will see in this book, she recommends a realistic approach to get you where you want to be. I have watched so many women pour out their hearts to Chris, sharing their unique challenges and the results they were able to achieve, thanks to her advice about diet and exercise. She has her finger on the pulse of American habits and is constantly suggesting ways to live a more balanced and fit life. You wont find a more authentic fitness expert.
Chriss advice is safe and easy to understandand it works. She always tells her clients that there is no magic pill for weight loss. But this book is the closest thing out there. After reading it, you will be more educated and more motivated. You will have a realistic plan that fits your busy lifestyle. And you will get what we are all looking for: better results.
