Introduction
Along with this book, I will share with you my practice and experience. I will introduce you to the Yoga Book for All Levels . The postures you need to know to make your yoga journey enjoyable. Whether you are beginner or want to deepen your experience, this book is very helpful because it is very informative with physical education, knowledge of levels of each posture, benefits, Sanskrit name, type of posture such as standing, sitting/ twisting, balances and inversion postures. This also includes information on alignment and alternative posture for certain situations. All postures are accompanied with pictures of a model who is a yoga teacher and is also the author of this book.
Regardless of religious background Yoga Book for All Levels is very neutral and just focuses on improving ones health. This book does not contain religious or spiritual practice of a particular religion. You can do well by including a prayer according to your belief if you want. I have included the history of yoga in this book as my appreciation to the founder of yoga. But yoga is about your relationship with yourself and with nature and your relationship with your God. As a yoga instructor who believes in Christianity, I really enjoy the benefits of yoga without hurting my religious belief.
Also, regardless of age or physical background, yoga is yoga for all ages whether you are in a family with small children or adults / with grandparents with less physical mobility, you can still find some postures in the book are simple and easy to follow with alternative postures. For example, your children will happily do cobra, cat or dog postures.
This book will guide you, so that you can discover your body deeper and you are not alone.
History of Yoga
Publicly known, Yoga originated in India about five thousand years ago. Many western scholars think yoga originated long before that, probably around the time of Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. It has been known as one of the alternative treatments for diseases, which raises inner power through respiration technique (Pranayama), body work, and meditation.
Yoga (Devanagari yuj from Sanskrit means "union or yoking ", defined as the union of mind, body and soul which means" union with nature" and can mean "union with God". Yoga is one of the six tenets of Hindu philosophy, which focuses on meditation in which a person uses the mind to control the senses and the body as a whole. In ancient times yoga is generally used for spiritual practice to gain Vedas. Vedas means wisdom or knowledge. The Vedas, essentially, is how to guide people to get a better life, to succeed in business, have a happy marriage, build strong leadership skills, win wars and to stay healthy.
