Sithembiso Lindelihle Myeni is a Lecturer in Housing and Planning at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He is a Cannon Collins Educational Trust and Ford Foundation Alumnus. He is the Principal Investigator for the Sustainable Human Settlements Decision Support Tools and the Municipal Innovation Maturity Index Research Projects. Both are funded by the Department of Science and Technology.
Andrew Emmanuel Okem is a Science Officer in the School of Life Sciences, University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He is a Co-Principal Investigator of the Sustainable Human Settlements Decision Support Tools funded by the Department of Science and Technology.

Andrew Emmanuel Okem is a Science Officer in the School of Life Sciences, University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. He holds a doctorate in Policy and Development Studies from the same institution. He is a co-Principal Investigator for the Sustainable Human Settlements Decision Support Tools.
Dr Claudine Hingston currently works at the Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) where she heads the MANCOSA Centre for Women Leadership and also serves as an academic lecturer. She is also actively engaged in research work and has written and published a number of articles on women, leadership and gender issues.
Danford Tafadzwa Chibvongodze is reading for a PhD in Development Studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His research interests are in urban theory, urban poverty, governance, spatiality and gender. He has five years of work experience in the field of development, in which he has coordinated community projects in the areas of health promotion and poverty mitigation. Danford has hands-on experience in project management, HIV advocacy, social research, food security and urban agriculture.
Judith Ojo-Aromokudu is an Architect, lecturing at the School of Built Environment and Development Studies at the University of KwaZulu Natal Durban. Her research interest is in informality in the Built Environment and Urban Vernacular Architecture of the 21st century.
Knowledge Zungu is a doctoral candidate at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He holds a Masters Degree in Housing, Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Forensic Investigation and Criminal Justice), and a Bachelor of Social Science Degree. His research interests are in land, low-income housing, fraud and corruption.
Dr Lovemore Chipungu holds a PhD in Town and Regional Planning. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and books; and his areas of interest are housing policy, urban land and urban design.
Mdoda Davidson Zondo is pursuing his doctoral studies in the Development Studies programme at the University of KwaZulu Natal. He has a keen interest in environmental issues.
Michael Samuel is a Professor in the School of Education, University of Kwa-Zulu-Natal. His research interests include teacher professional development, postgraduate higher education studies and lifehistory research. His recent books are Teacher education in Mauritius and Disrupting higher education curriculum: Undoing cognitive damage.
Ndwakhulu Tshishonga is a lecturer in the school of Built Environment and Development studies at the University Kwazulu-Natal. He holds a BA, BA (Hons) in Development Studies (UNISA); an MA in Applied Anthropology (Goldsmith College, University of London), MM in Public Development and Management (WITS) and MPA-Public Administration (UWC), Advanced Diploma (UWC-Adult Education) and Social Reconstruction and Development Certificate (SADEP-UWC). His interests are in citizenship and local government and local governance, Intergovernmental Relations, Social Movements and Protests, etc. His teaching interests range from Alternative Models of Development, Project Management and Development Planning to Micro Level Strategies in Economic Community Development, Co-operatives. His current research is on Intergenerational poverty, Inclusive and Exclusive Citizenship and Local Governance, Youth and Gender development as well as poverty issues and food security, politics of service delivery & social movements, Indigenous knowledge systems. His research output entails scholarly conference presentations and publication in journals such as Journal of Public Administration, Agenda, African Journal of Public Affairs, and Journal of African & Asian Local Government Studies. He has published more than 20 book chapters and journal papers nationally and internationally.
