FOREWORD
When Gurudas asked me if he could do some flower essences from the herbs in my back yard garden, I was honored. I had never seen anyone do flower essences before, so I was interested to see how he did it. I knew about the Bach Flower Essence tradition and understood it in association with homeopathy, and I was happy someone could come and demonstrate the procedures. I had planted a large herb garden in my backyard after beginning the Student Garden Project at the University of California, Santa Cruz, with Alan Chadwick, in 1967.
Alan practiced the Biodynamic approach to gardening, which was developed by Rudolf Steiner under the influence of Goethe, who, as well as being the foremost literary figure of Germany, was also an accomplished botanist.
It is clear from the writings of Gurudas on herbs and gem stones that he is part of this tradition, one that you could call a tradition of esoteric vitalism.
I like the references to Lemuria and Atlantis, which are important archaic sources for this tradition, because they tell us of a time when human consciousness was in complete rapport with the plant worlda symbiotic relationship that we have for the most part lost, but one that can, in part, be restored. I have thought about this tradition of human/plant harmony in reference to the re-establishment of the medicinal herbal tradition in this generation. In order to guide my studies, I have formulated a hypothesis that there is an herb code in the immune memory of the DNA. This means we are genetically programmed in our immune memories for herbs that prevent and cure illness. This memory is a deep one and the symbolic meaning of Lemuria and Atlantis is one way of thinking about the roots of this memory.
Another figure who lives in my memory, and with whom Gurudas has great affinity, is St. Hildegard of Bingen, a great mystic and adept who lived in the twelfth century. She worked with gem stones and medicinal herbs and gained all of her knowledge from direct experience and intu ition"Everything I ever wrote came wholly from the source of my heavenly vision," she says. Although she has been unknown in this country until recently, her work is now available in an English translation: Hildegard of Bingen's Medicine by Strehlow and Hertzka.
For those readers who want to know more about the background of this work, I would urge them to consult Gurudas' Flower Essences and Vibrational Healing, especially the bibliography. I was delighted to see the list of books under "Lemuria and Atlantis" which introduced me to those themes and the available literature.
What Gurudas has done for us in this volume is to increase, the morphic resonance between the plant world and ourselves, and or those of us who see healing as an integral part of salvation (salvation is an act of cosmic healing) this is an act of cosmic healing, this is all to the good.

PREFACE
Most of this text were provided by the master Hilarion through Jon C. Fox, a channel in California. Fox has become increasingly respected for his ability to accurately research a wide variety of technical subjects. He began his channeling career seven years ago as a conscious channel. In recent years, he has expanded his gift to include trance channeling, because that often makes it easier to present technical information. Fox's main interest is to do research channelings that will present new scientific technologies and concepts. Fox now conducts group readings with numerous people in California.
Hilarion focalizes the fifth ray, which consists of technical and scientific information. Some may be aware that Hilarion has recently been the source of an entire series of channeled books from the Marcus press in Toronto. Hilarion has provided inspirational guidance and technical advice to many people for thousands of years.
While almost finishing a master's degree in political science and being in law school for a year, I have also for some years been involved in various spiritual practices. This interest stimulated three trips to India in the early 1970s. Since 1976 I have worked with gem elixirs, homeopathic remedies, and flower essences, first as a student and then from 1978 until 1982, in my own private practice. This work also included giving advice relating to herbs, nutrition, and bath therapies. Since 1978 I for several years taught classes on different natural healing topics.
In early 1983 I founded and ran Pegasus Products until I sold it in the fall of 1987. The company produces about 700 different flower essences, gem elixirs, and homeopathic remedies, including all the remedies described in my books.
In the summer of 1979, I learned of a psychic surgeon from the Philippines, and with my keen interest in this form of healing, I visited him. In the middle of the session, several of my guides appeared, and they stated that my healing research would improve if I worked with a good trance channel. A few days later, a friend returned from San Diego describing Kevin Ryerson s work, and I was interested. I borrowed several tapes of Ryerson's public talks in trance and after listening to John's voice, one of Ryerson s guides, and hearing the information that was being discussed, I felt there might be a deep connection here. After a period of meditation, I called Ryerson and in October 1979 he visited San Francisco. From that period, we did numerous research readings for four years.
