I woke up 1:30 a.m. andcouldn't get back to sleep. I had gone to bed early the night before to rest upas I was leaving to catch a plane to Bangkokat 6:00 a.m. Damn that early morning flight! My first big shock camewhen I went to the Siam Bank money exchange and handed them $500 U.S. Dollarsand only got back 13,860 Baht!! WTF? This can't be right! It was. The exchangerate had dropped to 27.72 Baht to the Dollar!!! That seriously cut into my funbudget! I finally made it to the taxi stand and the taxi driver once againtried to scam me for 450 Baht to take me to my hotelon Soi 23. I said to him that you can use the meter. I had to argue aboutit with him several times. When I got to the hotel do you know what the meterread? 250 Baht! Don't let the taxi drivers rip you off at the airport guys. Bythe time I got to my hotel, checked in, unpacked some clean clothes, grabbed amuch needed shave and hot shower it was 1:55 a.m. It was too late to hit the bars at NanaPlaza. I'd have to settle with a quick run through Soi Cowboy which was just a5 minute walk from my hotel.

Back tothe sidewalk bars I had one beer and then decided to get something to eat atthe Love Scene restaurant. Two other girls that had just finished working whentheir sidewalk bars closed were walking my way too so I decided to invite themto get something to eat. I thought about inviting both girls to come back to myhotel but the one wanted to go home as it was now 5:00 a.m.
