HOW TO WRITE A NONFICTION BOOK IN THREE DAYS.
AN EASY STEP BY STEP METHOD
Hello dear reader! Nice to meet you.
You may be wondering, "What kind sorcery is this about writing a book in three days?" Calm down. I understand your skepticism. Therefore, the first thing I am going to do is list the answers to some of the questions that are probably going through your mind:
It is no magic trick or secret. It is a method;
You will not have to spend money on third parties to write the book for you;
You will write the book in three days . Formatting, cover and marketing are not included in this deadline;
Yes, there are some rules to follow in this method. It is nothing complicated.
First of all, I want you to know that I am a beginner and I decided that my books would be published independently. I believe that the literary market in the world is changing and independent publishing is the future (or part of it). I feel more confident publishing this way for several reasons. I love having the financial control, the control of the whole process (in the aesthetic part and content) and, of course, the control of the profits.
The things I am going to tell you here are based on my personal experience and do not reflect any absolute truth. It is possible that you do not agree with some parts of my method, but have an open mind, for everything I describe here has actually happened to me. Therefore, I can accurately tell you all about my experience.
Oh, read through to the end to find a special trick that I reserved for you.
Hope you like it!
***
What do you feel when you think of writing a book or an e-book? Does the task seems like a huge, difficult thing? A tedious job that will suck your time? If that's how you feel and you still want to write, then it's time to change your thinking. I hope I can assist you on this task with a few simple steps in this book.
SOME RULES.
For this method to work, there are some very simple rules. The first is that the book we are going to write must be a nonfiction.
"But why?" You ask me.
A fiction book, for the most part, is a work of art that require inspiration, plot twists and time. Books like that require a certain state of mind from the author. However, the nonfiction books are created from experiences, facts and information. Much easier to write.
Usually, the information presented in this type of books is very direct and clear, without unnecessary words. All these aspects greatly facilitate the method I am presenting here.
Did you know that readers who find your work for the first time are more likely to engage in a short nonfiction book?
Short nonfiction books succeed in sales because they offer the information fast, saving or optimizing the reader's time. Nobody likes to read pages and pages of rambling. That's where our next rule comes in.
The ideal for this method is a book of no more than fifty pages, but not less than thirty. Keeping your expectations realistic makes all the difference. If you do some quick research on Amazon, you will find good books that manage to deliver quality content in a few pages. These books are worth their price and somehow improve people's lives. This is what we have to keep in mind when writing a nonfiction book.
Another rule that I would like you to take very seriously is commitment. Choose wisely the days dedicated to this method. You do not have to use the three days in a row (one after another). You can dedicate a weekend to the first two and leave the third day for the next weekend. The important thing is that they are one hundred percent dedicated to the project. That means: no interruptions, no distractions and lots of focus. Each day of this method has a specific function that has to be done completely, because the next day will depend on the results of the previous day. Therefore, the importance of the commitment is big. Remember that at the end of the three days you will have a book ready to be reviewed and diagrammed. The hard part will be done!
I assume that you know how to use the basics of a text editor. Any text editor is fine and you do not have to be an expert on the subject.
The last rule is to have fun! Yes! At the end of the three days, you can make plans to launch your new book. Fantastic!
So let's begin!
DAY 1
On the first day we will:
- Choose the niche;
- Planning;
- Define topics and guidelines.
Simple. Right? It's just these items for the first day, but let's break each item to make sure everything will work out.
THE NICHE!
I imagine you already have a niche in mind. But let's suppose you're still looking for a niche for your new book. Having this item very clear it is critical. Write about something you know well. You do not have to be an expert, but if you have the experience and have to deal with this niche on a daily basis, I can assure you that it will be very easy to write about it. You will bring value to the reader.
For example: if you are a shopkeeper and have good tips on organizing the store... write about it. Or maybe you know how to deal with difficult customers. Or how to organize the financial part. Always try to bring some solution.
If you are a teenager, you can also help others with tips on behavior, school, family relationships, hobbies, games, style, social networking. Just identify the topic with which you have the greatest affinity and write about it.
"I'm a nobody and all I like to do is watch TV and eat."
Great! I can already imagine a title for your book:
"Easy recipes for home theater sessions. Tips to make your movie evening memorable. Snacks, dishes inspired by the recipes of the movies, irresistible popcorn, drinks and more. "
There is always something useful that you can share with people. So choose a niche and commit to it.
Now, open your computer's text editor (any editor) and write your title (or just the niche you will work with). As an example, I'll use the "Easy Recipes for Home Theater Sessions" . Write the title at the top of the first page. This will not necessarily be the title of the book, but it can be if you decide so.
Now that we have the niche well defined, let's go to the second item of the day.
PLANNING!
This part is important because it will make it very easy to see what we will have to do for the next item. You will understand in a bit.
Begin planning with a simple question: What do I want to say with this book?
Write the answer in your text editor, just below the title. You do not have to follow an order. Just describe in a sentence or two what you would like to include in the book. This part should be uncomplicated for you, since it is a topic that you know well. For example:
- I'm going to want to teach the recipe for the best homemade popcorn.
- I want to talk about the advantages of making snacks at home instead of ordering pizza or hamburgers.
- I'll also talk about vegetarian options.
- It's also a good idea to talk about drinks.
- And I want to introduce myself too.
- I want to talk about that perfect cake for movie sessions.
