Malcolm Barber is Emeritus Professor of Medieval History at the University of Reading. He is author of books on the Templars, the Cathars and the general history of medieval Europe in the high Middle Ages. A second edition of his Trial of the Templars was published in 2006.

Carlos Barquero Goni has a phD in Medieval history from the autonomous University of Madrid. He has published several books and articles on the Hospitallers in Medieval Spain. His most recent book is La Orden de San Juan de Jerusaln en Navarra. Siglos XIV y XV (2004).

Myra Bom is a graduate student at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She is writing a doctoral thesis on the presence of women in the Order of St John of Jerusalem in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.

Pierre Bonneaud studied Medieval History at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. He researches into the military orders in the Crown of Aragon and the Hospitallers of Rhodes at the end of the Middle Ages. His publications include Le prieur de Catalogne, le couvent de Rhodes et la couronne dAragon, 14151447 (2004).

Karl Borchardt is Professor of Medieval and Regional History at the University of Wrzburg and Director of the town archives in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. His PhD on ecclesiastical institutions in Rothenburg prior to the Reformation (1988) included research on Hospitaller commanderies. Since then he has published several articles on the Hospitallers in Germany and other parts of central Europe. Further publications include
