Frog - Rana

The Pansy sisters lived in a blue flowerpot next tothe village pond. They shared the pot with Basil, Rosemary andFrog.
Las hermanasPensamiento vivan en una maceta azul cerca del estanque delpueblo. Compartan maceta con Albahaca, Romera y Rana.

At this moment,they were chatting in a lively manner about all the new happeningsin the village. The Pansy sisters especially, liked a good gossipit helped to pass the time.
En este momentoestaban charlando animadamente sobre los nuevos acontecimientos enel pueblo. A las hermanas Pensamiento, especialmente, les gustabachismorrear porque ayudaba a pasar el tiempo.

This weeksfavourite subject had been Frog. Frog was different. Frog was ananimal.
El tema favorito deesta semana haba sido Rana. Rana era diferente. Rana era unanimal.

The sistersagreed that Frog was very big, for a frog. None of the plants knew"Frogs" real name but it must be Frog because, when he was in thepond, all they could see were his big bulging eyes.
Las hermanasestuvieron de acuerdo, en que Rana era muy grande, para ser unarana. Ninguna de las plantas saba el verdadero nombre de "Rana",pero deba de ser Rana, porque cuando Rana estaba en el estanque lonico que podan ver eran sus grandes ojos saltones.

Frogs eyeswere very big; all of Frog was very big! The only small part ofFrog was his tail and the plants knew that frogs do not have bigtails.
Los ojos de Ranaeran muy grandes, todo en Rana era muy grande! Lo nico pequeo enrana era su cola, pero las plantas saban que las ranas no tienenla cola muy larga.

When Frogyawned, his mouth opened very wide and the plants could see bigteeth.
"I didnt know that frogs have teeth," said Basil to no plant inparticular.
Cuando Ranabostezaba su boca se abra mucho y las plantas podan ver grandesdientes.
Yo no saba que las ranas tuviesen dientes dijo Albahaca, sindirigirse a ninguna planta en particular.

"They must haveteeth;" said the Pansy sisters, "frogs eat insects. I wouldnt wantto swallow a fly whole. Would you young Basil?"
Basil thought for a long time, the plants were not goinganywhere.
Tienen que tenerdientes dijeron las hermanas Pensamiento, las ranas comeninsectos, y a m no me gustara tragarme una mosca entera. A ti tegustara, joven Albahaca?
Albahaca pens por un largo rato, las plantas no estaban yendo aninguna parte.

"No, I wouldnot want to swallow a fly. What about you Rosemary?" Basil replied,hoping that the Pansy sisters would stop staring at him.
No, no me gustaratragarme una mosca. Y a ti Romera? respondi Albahaca, con laesperanza de que las hermanas Pensamiento dejaran de mirarlefijamente.

Rosemary waswatching Frog wallow in the water.
"What did you say Basil?" she said, not sounding veryinterested.
Romera estabamirando como Rana chapoteaba en el agua.
Qu has dicho Albahaca? dijo, no sonando muyinteresada.

At that moment,Frog came out of the water towards the flowerpot. Frog was big! Hewas fat too!
En ese momento Ranasali del agua viniendo en direccin al tiesto. Rana era grande!Y tambin gordo!

"Frog is sobig", laughed Basil.
All the plants laughed. It was so funny. Frog was such a very, verybig frog.
Rana es tangrande! rio Albahaca.
Todas las plantas rieron. Era tan divertido. Rana era una rana muy,muy grande.

The plants alllooked up at Frog. He did have big back legs just like frogs.
Todas las plantasmiraron hacia Rana. Tena unas patas de atrs muy grandes comotienen las ranas.

"I wonder howhigh Frog can jump," said Rosemary.
"Thats an interesting thought," laughed Basil. "Lets askhim!"
Me pregunto a qualtura puede saltar Rana dijo Romera.
Eso es una idea interesante rio Albahaca.Preguntmosle!

The Pansysisters turned their blue faces towards Frog.
"Frog!" they shouted in harmony. "Jump!"
Las hermanaspensamiento giraron sus caras azules hacia Rana.
Rana! gritaron a la vez. Salta!

Frog lookeddown at the plants in the little blue flowerpot.
"Me?" asked Frog. "I cant jump."
The plants thought that Frog must be shy; they all knew that frogscould jump.
Rana mir haciaabajo a las plantas en la pequea maceta azul.
Yo? pregunt Rana. Yo no s saltar.
Las plantas pensaron que Rana deba ser tmido; todos ellos sabanque las ranas saben saltar.

"Jump!" shoutedall the plants, "Jump! Jump!"
Frog frowned.
"Are you sure you want me to jump?"
"Jump! Jump!" shouted the plants excitedly.
Salta! gritarontodos a la vez. Salta! Salta!
Rana frunci el ceo.
Estis seguros de qu queris que salte?
Salta! Salta! gritaron entusiasmadamente lasplantas.

Frog jumped!Not very high but the ground shook.
"Gosh!" said the plants, "Jump Frog, jump!"
Rana salt! No muyalto pero la tierra se sacudi.
Uaohhh! dijeron las plantas, Salta, Rana, salta!

Frog lowereddown to the ground and jumped, for a moment blocking the sun. Theground shook like an earthquake.
Rana se agach ysalt por un momento tapando el sol. La tierra tembl como unterremoto.

The little blueflowerpot, with all the plants in it, bounced high in the air.Ripples spread across the village pond.
"This is fun," said Frog.
El pequeo tiestoazul, con todas las plantas dentro, rebot en el aire. Las ondas seextendieron a travs del estanque del pueblo.
Esto es divertido! dijo Rana.

Frog looked atthe pond. He trotted round to the side of the pond where the bankwas highest.
Rana mir hacia elestanque. Trot alrededor del estanque hacia donde la orilla erams alta.

The flowerpotwobbled. Frog took a run and jumped off the bank into thepond.
La maceta setambale. Rana ech una carrera y salt desde la orilla alestanque.

A tsunamireared out of the muddy water throwing a fish and the flowerpot offthe grassy bank, down onto the road. All that was left in the pondwas a little bit of water and lots of mud.
Un tsunami salidel agua fangosa lanzando un pez, y la maceta desde la hierba de laorilla, abajo a la carretera. Todo lo que qued en el estanque fueun poco de agua y un montn de barro.
