Communication and Your Job
Let's begin with a few basic assumptions. At this moment in your career, you are a professional secretary or administrative assistantdepending on how your company defines your position or what you, personally, prefer to be called. You are employed, either full-time and salaried; part-time or as a temp; or by yourself, as an independent contractor. You obviously possess the skills necessary to qualify for your job, and you probably have most of the ones you need to actually perform it. Finally, you are ambitious, which means one of two things: you either want to grow within your present position or you hope to use it as a launching pad to the next step on your particular career ladder.
If that is a fairly accurate description of where you see yourself, read on, because this book was written for you. And since you are a very busy person, it will get straight to the point, give you information you can really use, and share with you the candid thoughts of many of your professional peers around the country.
