Preface
The Fintech for Finance Professionals Volume provides a significant underpinning to the CFtP qualification. It covers important concepts in technologies for professionals in the finance and fintech areas. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and data science have been applied to various areas in finance and there is an increasing demand for the skills and knowledge related to fintech. It is high time for finance professionals to know about the basics of these technologies and fundamentals of subjects like data structure and computer network. This will give finance professionals a better idea of how to explore the potentials of applying emerging technologies in solving issues in the financial industries. The knowledge will be useful for anyone that would like to have a solid understanding of the Fintech.
This book covers the main concepts and theories of the technologies in Fintech which consist of four parts. includes Computer Network and Network Security.
This book is a companion volume to the book titled Finance for Fintech Professionals that covers the fundamental concepts in Finance. Together, these two books form the foundation for a good understanding of finance and fintech applications which will be covered in subsequent volumes.
About the Editors
Professor David LEE Kuo Chuen is a professor at the Singapore University of Social Sciences and Adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore. He is also the founder of BlockAsset Ventures, the Chairman of Global Fintech Institute, Vice President of the Economic Society of Singapore, Co-founder of Blockchain Association of Singapore, and Council Member of British Blockchain Association. He has 20 years of experience as a CEO and an independent director of listed and tech companies and is a consultant and advisor to international organizations on food supply chain, blockchain, fintech, and digital currency.
