A Cynics Business Wisdom: Winning Through Flexible Ethics: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "A Cynics Business Wisdom: Winning Through Flexible Ethics" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

A Cynics Business Wisdom is an entrepreneurs manual from the edgy perspective that cynicism teaches us to have a healthy respect for the unexpected.

It equips us to effectively deal with real-world business challenges and capitalize on opportunities. Essentially, it is the flip side of all those instant-gratification-sugar-coated-success-guaranteed-get-rich-overnight books.

This manual is a keen reflection of converting collegiate knowledge into actions that are intended to give you an advantage in dealing with people, selling, networking, negotiating, managing, and controlling every business situation you find yourself in.

It responds to questions posed and issues raised by entrepreneurs, academics, trainers, mentors, and businesspeople over all my years delivering business consulting, and expounds on my advanced business workshops, and on my very own business ventures.

Business often is not pretty. Business is not always fair. People are out to win at virtually any cost. Those footsteps you hear are a constant reminder that you have a target on your back. Flexible business ethics are part of empowering you to play by your own rules, recognize that business is a game, nobody owes you a break, there are no black-and-white norms, and that business ethics are flexible.

Understand how to play the game to win.

Dedication

To my wife, Linda, and my three wonderful kids, Lauren, Noah, and Jonathan, who put up with my inspired business craziness for years, and thereafter, taught me, gently, how to enjoy the authentic fruits of life.

Abstract

The business universe is often characterized by its own rules, (purported) ethics, morals, scruples, intents and operating principals. While they are portrayed and taught as cast in stone, in reality, they are not. The key here is reality. The real world of entrepreneurship revolves around survive-grow-adapt-succeed, and that absolutely gives the businessperson the opportunity to flex these norms to their own needs, always looking out for what is best for themselves. This book is intended to present, in an often edgy style, the how to of taking care of number one, you, the entrepreneur.

You have to learn the rules of the game, and then you have to play better than anyone else.

A Cynics Business Wisdom is an entrepreneurs survival manual from the edgy perspective that cynicism teaches us to have a healthy respect for the unknown and the unexpected. It equips us to effectively deal with real-world business challenges and capitalize on opportunities. After all, these are the cornerstones of being a businessperson.

This book personalizes business cynicism into a disarming and winning mindset for the entrepreneur. Each chapter also includes my personal experiences and business adventures in This Is How It Works in Real Life.

It is a welcome respite for the battle-weary entrepreneur. It delivers deliciously digestible, unconventional, and sometimes eccentric tidbits of proven winning business tactics. I know. Ive tried so very many of them myself.

This book responds to questions posed and issues raised by entrepreneurs, trainers, mentors, and businesspeople over my 20+ years delivering business consulting, and expounds on my advanced business workshops, as well as on my very own business ventures.

The book is a keen reflection of converting academic knowledge into unique workable business strategies, maneuvers, and techniques that promote growth and success.

Lets BBQ the Sacred Cow

Business is often not pretty. People are out to win at virtually any cost, especially your competitors. Hear those footsteps behind you? They are a constant reminder that you have a target on your back.

Business is not always fair, played out on a level playing field. Life is not fair either. Get over it.

Flexible business ethics are part of empowering you with a highly competitive edge, learning to play by your rules and not those of everyone else. They are creative, edgy strategies and actions that are intended to give you an advantage in dealing with people, selling, networking, negotiating, and, most importantly, controlling every business situation you find yourself in.

Okay, lets play.

Business is actually quite simple. Cope, grow, succeed, trust nobody, look after yourself first, and have fun. The strategies in this book are uncommon, but highly effective. They may not always be what some might call nice. However, they are legal, of course, and insightfully creative. Consider this survival manual as the flip side of all those instant-gratification-sugar-coated-success-guaranteed-get-rich-overnight books.

Once you recognize that business is a game, everyone is fundamentally selfish, nobody owes you a break, there are no black-and-white norms, only gray, and most of all, that business ethics are flexible, then you will understand how to play the game by your very own rules. This is a lot to absorb, I know.

George Burns is quoted as saying Authenticity is the key to winning. And if you can fake that, youve got it made. Thats flexible ethics in action.

This insightful Handbook is about the underbelly of business, the real world of clawing for a foothold, and, of course, winning. (This is a Handbook that cries out for a highlighter). These techniques will position you light-years ahead of your competition. Way ahead. And they work. Become a successful Business Rebel. I did it, and I won.
