Growing indoors is possible because a perfect environment can be created indoors. It is possible to create this environment in any decent house, apartment, or even trailer. You can have a grow tent in your bedroom with you, if you do not have anywhere else to grow. Closets hold grow tents nicely too.

Basements are ideal grow locations because they are easy to keep a constant environment. Outbuildings (sheds) that are not attached to houses are some of the least ideal places to grow indoors. It is difficult to keep the environment constant. With the available technology these days and some knowledge you can easily create whatever environment you need for you particular plant. Air conditioners, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, heaters, fans, etc., allow complete control.

The best way to think about it is that indoors you have to create the environment, so you have all the control, outdoors, Mother Nature has the control.You can use this to your advantage to grow awesome plants that have better quality to them a lot of times than the same exact plant grown outdoors. This is because you can be exacting when it comes to all the perimeters a plant cares about. You can dial in the exact specs.

Outside Mother Nature is not always the same, so you get much more random results. You can baby your plants indoors, and keep them from being weathered. This makes for different results then you would get outdoors.

You can manipulate the setting outdoors to your advantage as well, by amending the dirt with better dirt and nutrients, aeration, etc. Thus improving the results, of an outdoor grow.

If your location is not ideal, you can do your best to make it ideal. The more money you have the better you can make things. Gardening does get expensive if you want the absolute best. However gardening can be done very cheap as well. Just depends on your needs, and size of garden.

Indoors you will never get a storm to worry about, and you don't have to monitor the weather constantly, like you have to do for an outdoor crop.

Indoors you won't have as much air. So everything has to be thought of before you actually grow indoors.

It is better to plan the whole grow first, then to have to redo any of it. Especially when you are investing a lot of your time and money into it.

Growing indoors is limited by the power company. If there is a failure then the grow will suffer.

Growing outside can be easier at times then growing indoors, depending on the area of the world. Some places just grow better than others. Some places the plants virtually grow themselves. Other places like the desert, you have to grow way differently. And yes you can grow flowers in the desert, you just have to know how!
