This updated first edition SDR includes CBD, and newly released IlluminEyes(TM) and Olive Essentials(TM) from the 2019 Young Living Convention. The Supplements Desk Reference by Jen OSullivan, covers all 58 of Young Livings(R) nutrition-based supplements. Each supplement showcases the ingredients and what those ingredients are known to support, so you can be sure if it is the right one for you. It contains specific protocols using Young Livings(R) recommended directions for support areas such as hormones, liver support, bone health, glucose, cholesterol, weight management, stress, and sleep, along with the basics of child, dog, cat, and horse health. The SDR contains a comprehensive list of common potential allergens, interactions, and cautions, along with a complete list of all the vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, and herbs found in the Young Living(R) products and which supplements contain them. When you need to know what the best supplement is to take, in order to get more vitamin D, you will be able to know the answer right away... its OmegaGize3(TM). Endorsement from Olivier Wenker, MD, MBA, ABAARM, FAARFM, DEAA Bestselling author Jen OSullivan has done what has been overdue for a long time by creating a desk reference guide for Young Livings supplements. It is not a trivial task as the requirements for supplements vary from person to person, but the way this book is structured makes it easy to find what one searches for. Section 1 gives suggestions on how and why to support wellness for specific topics and individual organ systems. Section 2 is great because all Young Livings supplements can now be found in one single resource. Section 3 is important because not only does it provide a way to search for supplements containing certain specific ingredients, it also provides a list of ingredients some people might want to avoid such as dairy, nuts, shellfish, gluten, or listing products that are non-vegan. This is not only important in finding the correct supplements, but also it has huge value because one can compare or add up the individual ingredients found in the various products in order to avoid overdosing when taking multiple supplements over longer periods of time. All in all, a must-have for consumers of Young Living supplements.

I am forever grateful to my team of researchers and editors: Caite Bellavia, Cindy Edens, Danah Meyers, Mary White, Michelle Hancock, Stephanie Ward, and Tara Adams. Without their help this book would have never been published. I am blessed to know you all and love doing life with you. A special extra thanks to Caite Bellavia who helped keep us all in line and who is the queen of fact checking, and to Tara Adams who kept me in line with content and formatting. You are all a blessing to me! To my husband, who loves me even when my brain checks out as I am writing, and to my son, who always tells me he loves me as he walks by my office. My two men give me the energy to keep moving forward and Jesus is the reason for everything! Without Jesus, literally I would be lost. Thank you for being my guide, my teacher, my corrector, my warrior, my friend, and the lover of my soul. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your guidance and words, and thank you, Father, for blessing me with breath and life upon life.

Disclaimer
This is very important and you will see this statement several times throughout this book. The protocols and supplement descriptions in this book are based on the usage descriptions from the Young Living website and information readily available online. The amount and timing of each dosage are based on the label on each product. In some instances, lower doses are recommended in this book. When you start a new supplement regimen, it is important to start slowly and pay close attention to your body. Everyones body is unique and will respond differently. If a product does not work for you, please try another one. Check with your doctor if you are taking prescription medications. Pharmaceutical drugs should not be consumed at the same time as natural supplements. It is best to give a four-hour buffer between them. Always consult your doctor when you start a new regimen.
This book gives suggestions on how to support healthy systems. It is not intended to treat or diagnose existing conditions or illnesses. Each supplement consists of multiple ingredients. Each ingredient listed has a basic description of what it is commonly used for in the medical and holistic practice industries. Herbs and roots have been used for centuries and the traditionally studied uses for each are readily found on sources such as PubMed, Science Direct, the National Center for Biotechnology Information, U. S. National Library of Medicine, and the Food and Drug Administration websites.
The content in this book has not been evaluated by the FDA and the supplements and protocols will not treat or cure any sickness or disease. The author is not a doctor and has published this book as a means to have a compilation of information, in one spot, to make it easier to understand the many supplements Young Living carries.

Thank you, Gary Young, for creating these gems!
Gary Young first added essential oils to the supplements MultiGreens (the original name was VitaGreens) and ComforTonein 1984. Gary was a pioneer. He pushed the natural supplement market forward with great force, yet with incredible ease because he was armed with his powerful essential oils. Young Living is the only company on the planet to carry a full line of herbal and whole-food based nutrition infused with true botanical essential oils.
Heres to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes the ones who see things differentlytheyre not fond of rules You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them, but the only thing you cant do is ignore them because they change things they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones who do. - Steve Jobs
We live in a world where supplementation is the norm We take vitamin C in mass - photo 5
We live in a world where supplementation is the norm. We take vitamin C in mass doses, get vitamin B injections, and if youre not on a full-spectrum multivitamin, your mother might just cut you out of her will, if she finds out. Dietary supplements were not a major thing until the U.S. Congress passed the Dietary Supplement and Health Education Act (DSHEA) of 1994.
The scary reality from the FDA, regarding all of these supplements, can be understood by the following quotes from the FDA.
  • Federal law does not require dietary supplements to be proven safe to FDAs satisfaction before they are marketed.
  • For most claims made in the labeling of dietary supplements, the law does not require the manufacturer or seller to prove to the FDAs satisfaction that the claim is accurate or truthful before it appears on the product.
  • Dietary supplement manufacturers do not have to get the agencys [FDAs] approval before producing or selling these products.
Supplements are exactly what the word means: to add an extra amount of what we are not getting in our nutrition. Whole-food nutrition is the most important aspect to proper health, and the goal is to get as much of that nutrition as possible from what God has created. The reality is, the food sources we currently have access to are very different from those that our grandparents, or even our parents, grew up consuming.
We have massively depleted our soils, but more importantly, even if you are able to get organic, farmers market type produce and proteins, they are usually picked far before they should be, or the animals are fed from sources that are not ideal. Did you know most produce is picked about two weeks before it is ripe? Did you also know that often the most vital phytonutrients (plant nutrients) are developed during the last few days of ripening?
