I travel often for work, and my daughters know that they will join me for a daddy trip once or twice a year. From the moment Anna, our middle daughter, wakes up on the morning of her daddy tripno matter how early it isuntil we return home a few days later, she is talking. She talks to whoever will listen: me, flight attendants, strangers, even herself. Shes word smart (and, nearly as much, people smart).
Recently, our youngest daughter, Ali, joined me for a daddy trip to Washington, DC. She has far more energy than I, and constantly needs to be doing something. With an extra afternoon to spare, we visited the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. She loved seeing the exhibits but when, near the end of the day, we found a room with rock and fossil specimens you could choose, touch, handle, and examine under a microscope, she was thoroughly captivated. One specimen after another after another was lifted out of the box, examined, and returned. Had we found that room earlier, we wouldnt have made it to any other exhibits. Shes nature smart and body smart.
