As a result, they have lost control over their weight and immune system. They have become vulnerable to diseasesnot just heart disease, liver or kidney diseases, diabetes or cancer, but also to the plain colds and flu.

Obesity and diabetes are serious problems, as in many cases they are linked to each other. The lowest level is represented by water, as no human being can survive without water for a prolonged period. Water represents more than 90% of the bloods volume and more than 60% of body weight. At the second level of the pyramid, we can find fruits and vegetables, which are at their highest nutritional value when consumed raw. They are very good sources of minerals, vitamins, glucose, lipids, and proteins. The third level of the pyramid is represented by wheat, bread, pasta, potatoes, and rice, which all represent the most consistent sources of carbohydrates. Carbs are often regarded as the main energy sources used by the body to function properly. However, you should not eat excessively from any of the food types in this level of the pyramid. Milk and dairy products can be found at the fourth level of the pyramid, and although they represent a very good source of calcium and proteins, you still need to avoid consuming too much of them, especially if the food type is highly processed.

Eggs and meat are at the fifth level of the pyramid, and they represent a very good source for vitamins, proteins, fats, minerals, and iron. Also, they should not be consumed in excess. The last level of the pyramid is represented by sweets and they have to be consumed (if you think you cant live with them) in very moderate quantities, as they are very rich in sugars, and all the studies have shown that this substance has no benefits to your health, only harmful effects. Sugars can cause obesity, significantly increase the risks of getting heart disease, diabetes, cancer, are linked with acne, can speed up the aging process of skin and cells, can lead to a fatty liver, and can also drain the energy out of you. If you feel that you cant drink your coffee or tea without sugar, then you need to significantly lower the amount of sugar you use, try to avoid any soda or juice with a high amount of sugars, or try to use stevia as an alternative for sweetening up your drinks or sweets.
