Frank put on his hat. Lets go, Beans. Lets hike to the pond.
Frank and Beans went outside. They looked up at the sky.
The sun was not shining. It was hiding in the dark clouds. Franks mom said, It is going to rain. I think you should play inside. Frank was sad. He wanted to catch frogs.
Beans was happy. He wanted to stay dry. The rain wont last all day, said Franks mom. It is just a spring rain shower. I think God wants us to be patient. Franks mom smiled.
Here are some blankets. You and Beans can make a tent. Frank put blankets over the chairs. Soon he had made a good tent. Frank crawled inside. Beans went inside too.
He did not have to crawl. The tent was perfect. Frank and Beans pretended to camp. This is a good day after all, said Frank to Beans. Suddenly, CRASH! The blankets fell down. The tent was gone.
In the middle of the mess was SMore. SMore, you naughty cat! yelled Frank. Franks mom said, God wants us to be patient, Frank. That means with silly cats too. Frank did not feel patient, not with rain and not with SMore. SMore made lots of trouble.
Beans agreed. Soon Franks mom called him for a special rainy-day lunch. Beans sat under the table. He had a special lunch too. Before Frank could take a bite WHAM! SMore jumped up! She knocked Franks plate off the table. Frank was upset with SMore again. Frank was upset with SMore again.
He was not thinking about being patient. He grabbed SMore and put her outside. Frank slammed the door. He crossed his arms.
Soon he began to feel sad about putting SMore in the rain. He opened the door. Frank began to cry. Frank began to cry.
Beans began to howl. Frank put on his raincoat. Frank put a raincoat on Beans. They went to find SMore. SMore! SMore! called Frank. Beans followed Frank.
They walked for a long time. There was no sign of SMore. Frank looked under rosebushes. Beans sniffed under benches. They looked and sniffed everywhere. Then Frank heard a familiar sound.
He looked up at a tree. It was SMore! SMore was high up in the tree. She would not get down. Frank could not reach her. There was only one thing to do.
