basic need is something

all people must have to

survive. People all over

the world need food to

grow and stay healthy.

Not all people meet their

basic need for food in

the same way. Some

people mostly eat food

that comes from plants.

Other people get their

food from animals.

Food gives us the energy we

need to move, learn, and grow.

Hunting and shing

The foods people eat depends a lot

on where they live. People who

live near water often catch

seafood, such as sh, for

food. In areas with a lot of
