ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I ntroduction
Are you ready to start a family and you dont want to wait? If you want to get a baby soonest, then you need to take up this planning sketch seriously.
There are ways to maximize your chances of getting pregnant in no time. If you are not up to 35 years and in good health, and you have sex regularly, hopefully you should be pregnant within six months. You must have enough sex and do it at the right time, too. Though family and work commitment may pose an obstacle, but you need to make out time to make love.
Since sperm survives up to seven days, its not necessary to have sex everyday. Another thing is that the days you dont have sex, you allow the sperm to build up.
Pregnancy can only occur six days in a month; the five days before ovulation and the day after. Getting to know your cycle helps a lot. If your cycle is a 28 days circle, its better for you and should you not be sure of your cycle, try and keep a diary.
Ovulation normally starts 14 days before your period. An egg is only viable for a day and for that reason if after 24 hours of ovulation no fertilization occurred, youve missed your most fertile time.
It has been proven after years of research that having sex 6 days prior to ovulation is the most conducive time to achieving conception.
Getting pregnant should not be a do or die affairs because your partner might be worn out during performance.
You need to relax and throw away your pregnancy testing kits for a while and just enjoy sex.
CHAPTER 1
Basic things you need to know about fertility
Out of one in every 7 couples have some problems having a baby. Over 8 in 10 couples having regular sex every 2 to 3 days will conceive within a year if the woman is not yet up to 40 years.
There are various causes of infertility in both men and couples; some causes can easily be treated while others are complicated. Infertility is the difficulty encountered when trying to be pregnant despite indulging in regular sex, without the use of contraceptive pill. Theres no clear cut time to say a couple is infertile. For some couples it takes several months to conceive.
How pregnancy occurs
To conceive, an egg from a woman has to combine with a sperm from a man. An ovum is released from an ovary when a woman ovulates. This usually occurs once in a month between 12 and 16 days from the start of her last period, if her monthly cycle of 28 30 days is regular.
Effects of contraceptive pill
As good as it seem to be taking contraceptive pill for birth control, there are resulting side effects which are not good for a woman.
Below are the side effects of taking contraceptive pill.
- Inter-menstrual spotting Most of the people using the pill are affected by vaginal bleeding which occurs between expected periods. This happen mostly during the first 3 months of using the pill. It is of paramount important to seek the help of a professional medical expert if you bleed beyond 5 or more day.
- Nausea Most women who administer the pill for the first time will experience severe nausea which may likely reduce when taking the pill with food at bedtime.
- Breast tenderness Breast enlargement is the most common side effects of the pill. In case of pain that persist or tenderness in the breast after a few weeks, its important to seek medical attention.
- Headaches The pill sometimes increases headaches and migraine development.
- Missed periods even with proper use of the pill, you may experience skipped or missed period. Several factors including stress, hormonal abnormalities and illness have been discovered to be some of the likely causes.
A pregnancy test is recommended before administering the next pack of pills if you experience a missed period.
