These themes are spread throughout the book, so if you pick a page at random you never know what to expect! Some will be familiar, such as acrostics and word squares, but there may also be some that are new to you, such as the gallopers and the kangaroos.
Theres a great variety of puzzles: lots of different styles in varying degrees of difficulty, so there really is something for everyone.
Fill in the missing letters to find the names of seven types of vegetable. Then rearrange the first letters of each to find an eighth kind of vegetable.
By moving from square to square, horizontally, vertically or diagonally, it is possible to find the names of 32 birds in this grid. Squares may be used more than once, but not in the same name.
Solve the 11-letter anagram. No two adjoining letters of the solution appear in the same shape, and the shapes are a clue to the solution.
Hidden within each sentence, in the correct order, are the letters of a word that is opposite in meaning to the sentence. For example, close to boiling = cool.
The diagram shows five connected 5 x 5 magic squares. The answers are all five-letter words, and each of the grids reads the same across and down. The clues are given in sets of five, which, in each set, are in no particular order.
