After four decades of teaching mathematics, I realize that I have taught students as young as children in kindergarten and as old as teachers taking graduate classes.
Needless to say, during my long career, Ive also taught every grade level in between. In setting up my classroom regardless of the level I was teaching, there was always a spot for books about brainteasers, problem solving and optical illusions.
Optical illusions have always fascinated me and I learned over the years they also fascinated almost all my students. You can find many optical illusions on line.
What are optical illusions?
If you want a technical brain-based explanation, you can find it in many online resources. But for purposes of this book, lets just keep it simple. When the eyes see something, the brain tries to make sense of it. When the brain cant do that or sees more than one thing, we have an optical illusion.
The optical illusions in this book were put together for your enjoyment, but they were also assimilated to help make your brain stretch and think a little more.
