Preface

Silicon Valley Cybersecurity Conference (SVCC) facilitates research in dependability, reliability, and security to address cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities, faults, and errors in networks and systems. This conference provides a high-quality forum for participants to exchange their research in robustness and resilience in a wide spectrum of computing systems and networks. The conference discusses innovative system design, protocols, and algorithms for detecting and responding to malicious threats in dependable and secure systems and networks including experimentation and assessment.

The SVCC 2020 conference had five featured keynote speakers from academia and industry and six different research programs along with a distinguished research forum. The special research forum recognized three distinguished researchers in 2020 who presented their high-quality research in cybersecurity. The conference had 13 research papers and five poster papers this year, three of which were selected to be expanded into short papers. Papers were evaluated with a double-blind review process, with three reviews per paper.

In addition, the conference had a special session called UNiSEC (Underrepresented groups in Cybersecurity) with a poster session. We had two tutorial sessions: network security from Trend Micro and blockchain security. Finally, we hosted free student cybersecurity hackathons on December 19, 2020, supported by Cisco and San Jos State University.

In 2020, we had three conference sponsorships from well-known companies: Cisco, Intel, and Trend Micro.
