Acknowledgements

Writing a technical book is an arduous project at the best of times. Fortunately, the author was lucky to have help and support from a great team.

Above all, I owe a deep debt of gratitude to Roni Levy, who kindly accepted my offer to be the technical reviewer of this book. Roni brought a wealth of experience to this role, and his experience as a database developer shone in the way that he helped me ensure that the code worked exactly as it was intended. Roni went far beyond the call of duty in his efforts to help me deliver a book that would help readers master SQL with MySQL.

I also would like to thank Natalie Heger for letting me make use of her wide-ranging Linux expertise.

Finally, I have to thank the production staff at BPB for all their help. Their professionalism in guiding me through the publication process was much appreciated.

Lastbut not leastI need to thank my wife and son for putting up with my obsession with writing a book on a subject like SQL. Their good humor and encouragement have helped me considerably on this particular journey.
