Chapter 1: Now where did I put that manuscript?

Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.

- Helen Keller

Our addictive and interactive world with its own stressors, often robs us of any sense of daily accomplishments. What, if any spare time is left to work on that book you first began a month, a year or even a decade ago? Okay, there are no more excuses; you now recognize your written work was the beginning of something extraordinary. Why not make today the perfect time to get back into your writing groove once more?

Its a beautiful day, so what better time than right now to rescue that dusty, worn and abandoned manuscript. Now, where did you last place those inspiring pages/saved computer files? Lets look for them.you know theyre nearby, just waiting to be rescued at last. What was that; you dont have the time or energy? Oh yes you most certainly do! Imagine that special moment upon rediscovery of those long forgotten pages. This is just the beginning of a self-fulfilling path towards your future recognition as a published author. The adventure and highlight of a lifetime awaits..so, what are you waiting for?

Lets begin the process at a slow pace by rereading your precious written work as you will get to review it with a fresh pair of eyes. Although, an initial reaction to edit will begin to kick in, allow some time to ease back into your unique writing flow. Bear in mind, most renowned writers have reedited their work multiple times over before ever reaching an acceptable resolution. Also, remember you are never alone on this chosen literary path but have now joined an elite club of aspiring authors around the globe. One day in the not too distant future, you will feel immense pride whenever referred to as a published author. All of that dedicated hard work will start to pay off, leaving you with a lifetime memory of achievement.

Did you know that on average, a first time author will dedicate anywhere from four months to an entire year on the creation of their book from start to finish? Such a timeline will also reflect upon your chosen book genre, dedicated writing routine, as well as relevant research. To ensure the process is a smoother one, why not set yourself a regular, realistic and attainable writing goal? Picture yourself answering to a demanding boss who allocates you a daily, weekly or monthly work deadline. Be sure to reward yourself for each achieved accomplishment along the way. You might estimate a weekly minimum word amount, while making separate notes to help monitor ongoing progress.

As you slowly compile chapter by chapter, feel free to seek additional help along the way towards that publishing deadline. Online engines such as Google, YouTube etc. can help with multiple avenues yet to be pursued. Advance at your own pace without allowing information overload to overwhelm your mind. Doesnt time just fly whenever you happen to be online researching any given subject? Make sure to take plenty of notes along the way as you organize and customize your book outline. To avoid confusion, it can be useful to create new file categories as you share related book articles to your mail inbox. This pertinent information really comes in handy at a later date, thus saving much valuable time.
